2003 King St Track

The following shots were taken on April 16, 2003. The first shot is
looking east from Simcoe St. The second is looking west from Simcoe
St. The third is looking east from John St., notice that compared to
the topmost shot there are now two eastbound tracks. The fourth shot is
looking west from John St.

These pictures taken on April 22, 2003 show various
stages of progress along the route shown above. The first picture taken
opposite of Roy Thompson Hall shows the rubber insulation around the
rails. The second picture was taken a little west of the first and
shows the rails as they look after the second coat of concrete is
poured. The third picture is looking west from John and shows how
the street looks after the final coat of concrete is poured, although it
seems they haven't poured the final coat between the rails.

The track work on King is proceeding at a good pace.
The top picture was taken looking east from Bay on May 12, 2003. The
bottom right picture was taken looking west from Bay on May 12, 2003.
By then the second coat of concrete had already been poured. In
fact, when I came back there the next day and took the bottom right
picture they were pouring the final coat of concrete.

On May 25, I walked on King through the entire length
of the construction zone, following are pictures of the progress made so
