Yonge Subway Closure

Yonge Subway Sunday Morning Closure - Extended closures until February 16

Scarborough RT

Earlier Evening Closure Ends

  • The earlier evening closure, which began September 1, 2002, will end for the winter. Starting December 22, 2002, the last trip times of the Scarborough RT will return to the normal times, the temporary shuttle bus will no longer run, and 54 Lawrence East buses will resume serving Lawrence East Station late at night. The construction project is expected to resume in April 2003.

Commuter Parking

Changes to Hours of free parking effective January 2, 2003:

  • For cash customers no more free parking after 3pm, Monday to friday. Free parking only on weekends and holidays.

  • For Metropass Customers, free parking anytime at Metropass lots.

  • Most routes start at 9:00 a.m.

Thursday, December 26 – Boxing Day

  • Saturday service

  • Most routes start at 6:00 a.m.

Friday, December 27

  • Morning and afternoon rush hour service designed to meet reduced customer demand.

  • Most routes start at 6:00 a.m.

Saturday, December 28

  • Regular Saturday service

  • Regular Sunday service

Monday, December 30

  • Morning and afternoon rush hour service designed to meet reduced customer demand.

  • Most routes start at 6:00 a.m.

Tuesday, December 31 – New Year’s Eve

  • Reduced morning peak period service

  • Reduced afternoon peak period service, operating from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m.

  • Most routes with late-evening service continue until 3:00 a.m. (see list below for contracted service exceptions)

  • Yonge-University-Spadina Subway - Last trains on the Yonge-University-Spadina subway leave Union Station at 2:31 a.m. for Finch Station and 2:36 a.m. for Downsview Station. The last northbound train on the Yonge subway will connect at Bloor-Yonge Station with the last eastbound and westbound trains on the Bloor-Danforth subway, and at Sheppard-Yonge Station with the last eastbound train on the Sheppard subway.

  • Bloor-Danforth Subway - Last trains on the Bloor-Danforth subway leave Yonge Station at 2:38 a.m. for Kipling Station and at 2:38 a.m. for Kennedy Stn. The last eastbound train on the Bloor-Danforth subway will connects at Kennedy Station with the last eastbound train on the Scarborough RT.

  • Scarborough RT - Last train on the Scarborough RT leaves Kennedy Station at 3:05 a.m. for McCowan Station.

  • Sheppard Subway - Last train on the Sheppard subway leaves Sheppard-Yonge Stn at 2:58 a.m. for Don Mills Station.

  • Extra trips on all Blue Night routes between 3:00 and 4:00 a.m. to make service every 15 minutes or better.

Mississauga Transit

  • 32 Eglinton West – Service will end at the usual time

  • 58 Malton – Service to Westwood Mall will be extended until approximately 3:00 a.m.

York Region Transit

  • 160 Bathurst North – Service to Centre St will end at the usual time

  • 17 Birchmount – Service to 14th Ave will end at the usual time

  • 25 Don Mills – Service to 16th Ave will end at the usual time

  • 105 Dufferin North – Service to Rutherford will end at the usual time

  • 37 Islington – Service to Highway 7 will end at the usual time

  • 35 Jane – Service to Langstaff Rd will end at the usual time

  • 107 Keele North – Service to Teston Rd via York University will be extended until approximately 3:00 a.m.

  • 129 McCowan North – Service to Major Mackenzie will be extended until approximately 3:00 a.m.

  • 102 Markham Rd – Service to Major Mackenzie will end at the usual time

  • 224 Victoria Park North – Service to 14th Ave/Major Mackenzie will end at the usual time

  • 268 Warden North – Service to 16th Ave will be extended until approximately 3:00 a.m.

  • 165 Weston Rd North – Service to Major Mackenzie will be extended until approximately 3:00 a.m.
