Yonge-University-Spadina Subway Accessible symbol

Sunday Morning Subway Closures End

  • Regular Sunday morning subway operation between Finch and York Mills will commence on Sunday, February 16, 2003.

192 Airport Rocket Accessible symbol and 300 Bloor-Danforth

Service increase and new overnight service to Pearson Airport

  • The 300 Bloor-Danforth overnight route will be extended to the airport, so that there is 24-hour service to the airport from the Bloor-Danforth corridor. Service will be increased on the 192 Airport Rocket route. New 24-hour overnight service will be operated, every 30 minutes, by extending every second bus on the 300 Bloor-Danforth overnight route to Pearson Airport Terminals 2 and 3, on the new 300A Bloor-Danforth (Warden-Air Terminals 2 & 3) branch.

  • There will be no change to the combined 15 minute service on the main part of the 300 Bloor-Danforth route. On the 192 Airport Rocket route, service will be increased from every 45 minute to every 40 minutes during the morning peak period and the late evening, and from every 22 min 30 seconds to every 20 minutes during the midday and afternoon peak period from Monday to Friday, and during the daytime on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

Buses depart Terminal 3 approximately 12 minutes after departing Kipling Station, and depart Terminal 2 approximately three minutes after departing Terminal 3.

Service increase

  • Service will be increased during the daytime and early evening on Saturdays, to reduce crowding. The service during the daytime will change from every 7 minutes 30 seconds to every 6 minutes 30 seconds. The service during the early evening will change from every 10 minutes to every 9 minutes.

127 Davenport

Service reduction

  • Service will be reduced during the morning peak period, so that the resources can be reallocated to other routes. The service will change from every 16 minutes to every 25 minutes.

307 Eglinton West

Extension to Pearson Airport Terminal 3

  • This route will be extended to Terminal 3 at Pearson Airport. Buses will serve Terminal 3 first and will then serve Terminal 2. There will be no change to service levels or departure times from Yonge Street.

Routing

Westbound: Over the existing route west on Eglinton Avenue, north on Renforth Drive, north on Silver Dart Drive, via the airport internal roadways to Terminal 3, via the airport internal roadways to Terminal 2.

Eastbound: From Terminal 2 over the existing routing to Yonge Street.

191 Highway 27 Rocket

Service reliability improvement

  • The schedule will be changed on Saturdays, to improve the reliability of service. Service will change from every 20 minutes to every 22 minutes.

37 Islington

Service increase

  • Two earlier southbound trips will be added on the 37A (Islington Stn-Woodbine Centre and Humberwood via Rexdale Blvd) branch on Sunday mornings, to reduce crowding.

Trip details

  • New first southbound trip departing Humberwood at 9:00 and arriving at Islington Station at 9:36 a.m. New southbound trip departing Humberwood at 9:35 a.m. and arriving at Islington Station at 10:11 a.m.

107 Keele North

Service reliability improvement

  • The schedule will be changed during the afternoon peak period, from Monday to Friday, to improve the reliability of service. Service on the 107B (Downsview Stn-Rutherford GO Stn via Chesswood) branch will change from every 18 minutes to every 20 minutes. Service on the 107C (Downsview Stn-Teston Rd via Bakersfield) branch will be improved from every 18 minutes to every 17 minutes.

Schedule change

  • Operations at the north end of the 107C (Downsview Stn-Teston Rd) branch will be changed to better serve customers. Before 12:00 noon, buses will await their southbound departure time at the beginning of the on-street loop, on Drummond Drive, immediately after turning west off of Keele Street. After 12:00 noon, buses will await their southbound departure time at the end of the on-street loop, at Cranston Park Avenue and Teston Road. This change will carry customers as directly as possible to and from this on-street loop.

Before 12:00 noon northbound: Over the present route north on Keele Street to Drummond Drive.

After 12:00 noon northbound: Over the present route north on Keele Street, west on Drummond Drive, north on Cranston Park Avenue to Teston Road

Before 12:00 noon southbound: West on Drummond Drive, north on Cranston Park Avenue, east on Teston Road, south on Keele Street over the present route.

After 12:00 noon southbound: East on Teston Road, south on Keele Street over the present route.

504 King

Streetcar Trackwork on King Street - 2003

  • Beginning February 24th, 2003 and continuing through to October 2003, the Toronto Transit Commission will be replacing the streetcar rails on King Street from River Street in the east end to Close Avenue in the west end.

Phase 1: February 24 to March 9

  • Rail welding: King Street between River Street and Ashby Place (just south of Queen Street). 504 King streetcar will divert both ways via King, Parliament Street, Queen Street and Broadview Avenue.

Phase 2: March 10 to March 23

  • Rail welding: King Street between Jarvis Street and Frederick Street (west of Sherbourne). 504 King streetcar will divert both ways via King, Church Street, Queen Street and Broadview Avenue.

Phase 3: March 24 to May 11

  • Rail welding and start of track reconstruction: King Street between Shaw and Spadina and between Charlotte (east of Spadina and Church. 504 King streetcar will divert both ways via King, Shaw Street, Queen Street, Church (westbound via Richmond and Victoria), King, Queen and Broadview Avenue.

Phase 4 - May 12 to May 25

  • Track reconstruction: Completion of construction on King Street between Shaw and Spadina and between Charlotte and Church. Construction begins on King Street between Church Street and River Street. 504 King streetcar will divert both ways via King, Shaw Street, Queen Street and Broadview Avenue.

Phase 5 - May 26 to July 6

  • Track reconstruction: King Street between Church Street and River Street. 504 King streetcar will divert both ways via King, Church Street, Queen Street and Broadview Avenue.

58 Malton

Extension to Pearson Airport Terminal 3

  • This route will be extended to Terminal 3 at Pearson Airport. Buses on the 58A Malton (Lawrence West Stn-Air Terminals 2 & 3) and 58D Malton (Lawrence West Stn-McNaughton via Terminals 2 & 3) branches will serve Terminal 3 first and will then serve Terminal 2. There will be no change to service levels.

58A westbound: Over the existing route west on Dixon Road, west on Airport Road, north and east on ramp to Terminal 3 via the airport internal roadways, serve stop at Terminal 3 (arrivals level), via the airport internal roadways to Terminal 2 (arrivals level).

58A eastbound: From Terminal 2 (arrivals level) over the existing routing to Lawrence West Station.

58D westbound: Over the existing route west on Dixon Road, west on Airport Road, north and east on ramp to Terminal 3 (arrivals level) via the airport internal roadways, serve stop at Terminal 3 (arrivals level), via the airport internal roadways to Terminal 2 (arrivals level). From Terminal 2 (arrivals level) over the existing routing to Victory and McNaughton.

58D eastbound: Over the existing route east on Airport Road, north and east on ramp to Terminal 3 (arrivals level) via the airport internal roadways, serve stop at Terminal 3 (arrivals level), via the airport internal roadways to Terminal 2 (arrivals level). From Terminal 2 (arrivals level) over the existing routing to Lawrence West Station.

Fares

  • All service to Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 is within the Toronto fare zone, and a single fare only applies. Mississauga Transit fares are not accepted at the stops in the airport. The westbound stop on Airport Road far side at Bresler Drive will not be served by buses travelling into Pearson Airport.

Service reliability improvement

  • The schedule will be changed during the morning and afternoon peak periods from Monday to Friday, to improve reliability. The service will change from every 10 minute to every 12 minutes.

86 Scarborough

Seasonal service changes (Effective Saturday, March 8, 2003)

  • Later service will be provided from the Toronto Zoo in the early evening, seven days a week, to match the later Spring closing time of the Zoo, at 6:00 p.m. From Monday to Friday, the last trip on the 86A Scarborough (Kennedy Stn-Toronto Zoo) branch will leave from the Zoo at approximately 7:00 p.m. On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, the last eastbound and westbound trips on the 85 Sheppard East route will leave from the Zoo at approximately 7:00 p.m.

  • Later service will be provided from the Toronto Zoo in the early evening, seven days a week, to match the later Spring closing time of the Zoo, at 6:00 p.m. From Monday to Friday, the last trip on the 86A Scarborough (Kennedy Stn-Toronto Zoo) branch will leave from the Zoo at approximately 7:00 p.m. On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, the last eastbound and westbound trips on the 85 Sheppard East route will leave from the Zoo at approximately 7:00 p.m.

Service increase

  • A new westbound trip will be added in the early morning from Monday to Friday, between Meadowvale Road and Markham Road. The trip will depart from Meadowvale at approximately 5:00 a.m.

88 South Leaside Accessible symbol

Service on Vanderhoof Avenue

  • This route will be changed to operate via Vanderhoof Avenue in both directions between Laird Drive and Leslie Street/Wicksteed Avenue, during the peak periods and midday from Monday to Friday, and the daytime on Saturdays. The combined service west of Millwood Road will change from every 7 minutes to every 7 minutes 30 seconds during the morning peak period, from every 13 minutes to every 15 minutes during the midday from Monday to Friday, and from every 8 minutes to every 8 minutes 30 seconds during the afternoon peak period. There will be no change to the service levels on Saturdays. With this change, service will be removed from Wicksteed Avenue, between Brentcliffe Road and Leslie Street.

Eastbound: Over the present route east on Sutherland Drive, northwest on Millwood Road, north-east on McRae Drive, east on Wicksteed Avenue, north on Brentcliffe Road, east on Vanderhoof Avenue, south on Leslie Street, east on Wicksteed Drive and south on Beth Nealson Drive to the present route.

Westbound: Over the present route north Beth Nealson Drive, west on Wicksteed Avenue, north on Leslie Street, west on Vanderhoof Avenue, south on Brentcliffe Road, west on Wicksteed Avenue, southwest on McRae Drive, southeast on Millwood Road, west on Sutherland Drive to the present route.

68 Warden

Service reduction

  • The southbound trip which departs from Steeles Avenue at 3:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday will be removed, because of low ridership.

196 York University Rocket and 106 York University Accessible symbol

Service increase

  • On Saturdays, service will be increased to York University, to reduce crowding, by operating new Saturday service on the 196 York University Rocket route. Minor service reductions will be made to the 106 York University route, to allow some resources to be shifted from the 106 local service to the 196 express service. During the daytime on Saturday, the service on the 106 York University route will change from every 11 minutes to every 15 minutes. New service on the 196 York University Rocket route will be operated every 15 min, giving a combined 7 minutes 30 seconds service on the two routes between Downsview Station and York University.
