Service Increase - Effective Sunday, February 18, 2007

Service will be increased at most times of the week. During the midday from Monday to Friday, the daytime on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, and the evening seven days a week, service will be improved from every 10 minutes to every 9 minutes. During the afternoon peak period from Monday to Friday, service will be improved from every 12 minutes to every 11 minutes. After midnight, seven days a week, service will be improved from every 20 minutes to every 15 minutes.

Service will be reduced slightly at various times of the week, as the new low-floor buses now used on the route provide increased capacity, compared to the older low-floor buses that they have replaced.

During the afternoon peak period from Monday to Friday, the service on the 7 (Bathurst Station -Steeles) branch will change from every 6 minutes 30 seconds to every 7 minutes. During the early evening from Monday to Friday, the service will change from every 7 minutes to every 7 minutes 30 seconds.

All service on the 11 BAYVIEW route during the afternoon peak period on Monday to Friday and the early evening on Saturdays will operate on the 11 (Davisville Station - Steeles) branch. During the afternoon peak period, the service north of Sheppard Avenue will be improved from every 26 minutes to every 15 minutes. The service between Sheppard Avenue and Davisville Avenue will change from every 13 minutes to every 15 minutes.

During the early evening on Saturdays, the service north of Sheppard Avenue will be improved from every 32 minutes to every 16 minutes, and there will be no change to the 16 minute service south of Sheppard Avenue. With this change, service will be removed from the on-street loop via Hawksbury Drive and Bayview Mews during the afternoon peak period on Monday to Friday and the early evening on Saturdays.

There will be no change to the late evening service on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, which operates only as far north as Sheppard Avenue and will continue to loop via Hawksbury Drive and Bayview Mews.

Service during the peak periods and midday from Monday to Friday will be changed for a trial period, so that every second bus in both directions operates via the 108A (Downsview Station - Jane via Grandravine) branch. This change will provide new westbound morning peak period service, new eastbound afternoon peak period service, and new midday service in both directions on the 108A branch. There will be no change to the service levels or trip times over the combined portion of the route.

Starting 9:30 a.m., Monday, February 19, track work will begin on Dundas Street, east of Parliament Street. During the construction streetcars will divert in both directions via Gerrard Street and Parliament Street, as shown below.

There will be no service on Dundas Street between Parliament Street and Broadview Avenue. There will be no 505 DUNDAS service on Broadview Avenue, between Gerrard Street and Dundas Street (service will continue to be provided by 504 KING streetcars).

The first southbound departure from Steeles Avenue will be at 8:15 a.m., instead of 8:20 a.m., and will arrive at Kipling Station at 8:45 a.m., in time for customers to connect to the first train at 8:49 a.m.

Full streetcar service between St Clair Station and Gunns Loop (west of Keele Street) will resume. Streetcars will operate every three to nine minutes during the daytime, and every seven to 15 minutes during the evenings.

Replacement bus service will end and customers should board streetcars at island stops on St. Clair Avenue. The curb stops will no longer be served.

The last day of service on Barkwin Drive and Wardlaw Crescent will be Friday, February 16, 2007.
