6 Bay

Seasonal service change

  • Service will be operated during the early evening on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays in the summer. With this change, the last northbound trip will leave Queens Quay at approximately 10:30 p.m. Buses will operate every 17 minutes, and departure times will be the same as from Monday to Friday. The last day of the additional service will be Labour Day, Monday, September 5, 2005.

11 Bayview

Service increase - Effective Monday, May 9, 2005

  • Service will be increased early in the morning peak period from Monday to Friday, to reduce crowding. Two additional southbound trips to Davisville Station will be added, starting from Soudan Avenue (just south of Eglinton Avenue) at 6:19 a.m. and 7:28 a.m.

9 Bellamy , 34 Eglinton East and 103 Mt Pleasant North

New accessible service

  • New accessible service will be operated, using low-floor buses. There will be no change to service levels.

506 Carlton

Seasonal service change - Effective Monday, May 9, 2005

  • Service will be reduced during the morning and afternoon peak periods from Monday to Friday, as ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to and from the University of Toronto. In the morning peak period, the service will change from every 3 minutes 40 seconds to every 4 minutes. In the afternoon peak period, the service will change from every 4 minutes 40 seconds to every 5 minutes.

172 Cherry Street

Seasonal service change

  • The route will be extended from Commissioners Street to Cherry Beach (Clarke Beach Park) on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Buses will run every 20 minutes. There will be no change to the early Saturday morning service operated on the 65A PARLIAMENT (Castle Frank Station-Union Station) branch.

29 Dufferin

Seasonal service change

  • The route will be extended into Exhibition Place, to provide service closer to Ontario Place. This service will operate after approximately 9:00 a.m., seven days a week, except for when major events are being held on the Exhibition grounds. There will be minor changes to service levels. The extended service will end in mid-August 2005, when the Exhibition Place grounds close for the CNE.

105 Dufferin North

Service increase - Effective Monday, May 9, 2005

  • Service will be increased during the evening from Monday to Friday, at the request of York Region Transit. The service will be improved from every 60 minutes to every 30 minutes. There will be no change to the last trip time, which will continue to depart northbound from Downsview Station at 11:00 p.m., and southbound from Rutherford Road at 11:31 p.m.

509 Harbourfront

Seasonal service change

  • Late evening service will be operated, seven days a week, because ridership increases along Harbourfront in the summer. Late evening service from Monday to Friday will operate every 20 minutes. Late evening service on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays will operate every 10 minutes.

Seasonal service change

  • Service will be increased in the early evenings on weekends and holidays, because of seasonal ridership increases along Harbourfront in the summer. The service will be improved from every 20 minutes to every 10 minutes.

  • Service to Exhibition Place will start an hour earlier on Saturday mornings because of increased activities at Exhibition Place in the summer. Saturday early morning service will operate every 10 minutes.

Summer weekend fare collection at Union Station

  • On Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from May to Labour Day, a modified fare collection procedure at Harbourfront will be used, in order to speed boarding at busy stops at busy times. Customers who board streetcars at the eastbound stops on Queens Quay at Bathurst Street, Portland Street, Spadina Avenue, Rees Street, Simcoe Street, and York Street, and at the northbound platform at Queens Quay Station, will enter the streetcars through any door and will not pay a fare or be issued a transfer. Customers boarding cars at these stops will pay their fares instead when leaving the streetcar loop at Union Station.

  • Normal pay-as-you-enter fare collection and transfer-issuing procedures will be used at all other stops on the 509 HARBOURFRONT and the 510 SPADINA routes. From Monday to Friday during the summer, and seven days a week after Labour Day, normal pay-as-you-enter fare collection will apply at all stops.

38 Highland Creek

Seasonal service reduction - Effective Monday, May 9, 2005

  • Service will be reduced during the morning and afternoon peak periods from Monday to Friday, as ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to and from Centennial College and the University of Toronto at Scarborough. During the morning peak period the service will change from every 11 minutes to every 16 minutes 15 seconds. During the midday the service will change from every 12 minutes to every 15 minutes. During the afternoon peak period, and the service will change from every 14 minutes to every 17 minutes 30 seconds.

191 Highway 27 Rocket

Seasonal service reduction - Effective Monday, May 9, 2005

  • Several trips on the 191A HIGHWAY 27 ROCKET (Humber College-Kipling Station) branch will be removed for the summer, as ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to and from Humber College.

These trips will be cancelled:
Northbound trips from Kipling Station at
8:50, 9:10, 9:30, 9:50, 10:10, and 10:30 a.m.

Southbound trips from Humber College at
9:29, 9:49, 10:09, and 10:29 a.m.

107 Keele North

Service increase - Effective Saturday, May 14, 2005

  • One earlier round trip will be operated on Saturday mornings, departing northbound from Wilson Avenue at 5:57 a.m. and southbound from McNaughton at 6:47 a.m. The 6:30 a.m. northbound trip from Downsview Station will also be changed to start at Wilson Avenue, to better connect with overnight buses.

44 Kipling South

Seasonal service reduction - Effective Monday, May 9, 2005

  • Service will be reduced during the morning and afternoon peak periods from Monday to Friday, as ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to and from Humber College, Lakeshore Campus. During the morning peak period, and the service will change from every 5 minutes to every 6 minutes. During the afternoon peak period the service will change from every 5 minutes to every 7 minutes 30 seconds.

58 Malton

Service increase - Effective Monday, May 9, 2005

  • The first westbound trip from Monday to Friday on the 58B MALTON (Lawrence West Station-Westwood) branch will be changed to begin service westbound at Lawrence Avenue and Dufferin Street at 4:48 a.m. The change will provide a new connection to overnight service on the 329 DUFFERIN route.

134 Progress

Seasonal service reduction - Effective Monday, May 9, 2005

  • Service will be reduced during the morning peak period from Monday to Friday, as ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to Centennial College. The service on the 134C (Scarborough Centre Station-Centennial College) branch will change from every 5 minutes to every 8 minutes.

73 Royal York

Service increase - Effective Monday, May 9, 2005

  • An additional southbound trip to Royal York Station will be scheduled to depart from Humberline Loop at approximately 11:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, to reduce crowding which occurs at shift change time at nearby offices and factories. The departure times of two other southbound trips will also be changed for a more evenly-spaced service. There will be no change to northbound trip times.

10:20, 10:40, 11:00, 11:20, 11:46 p.m., and 12:16 a.m.

86 Scarborough

Seasonal route extension to Toronto Zoo - Effective Sunday, May 8, 2005

  • The route will be extended to the Toronto Zoo on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Buses will follow the same routing to the zoo as they do from Monday to Friday. Service levels will not change. The last day of summer weekend and holiday service to the zoo will be Labour Day, Monday, September 5, 2005.

Later service to Toronto Zoo

  • Later service will be provided from the Toronto Zoo in the early evening from Monday to Friday, beginning on Saturday, May 21, 2005. The last trip will leave from the zoo at approximately 8:30 p.m.

85 Sheppard East

Later service to Toronto Zoo - Effective Saturday, May 21, 2005

  • Later service will be provided from the Toronto Zoo in the early evening on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, beginning on Saturday, May 21, 2005. The last trips to Don Mills Station, Sheppard-Yonge Station, and Rouge Hill GO  Station will leave from the zoo at approximately 8:30 p.m.

88 South Leaside

Service increase - Effective Monday, May 9, 2005

  • Two trips at the end of the afternoon peak period from Monday to Friday which presently end service at Beth Nealson Drive and Wicksteed Avenue will be extended in service to Thorncliffe Park Drive (west) and Overlea Boulevard. This change will carry customers all the way to their destinations.

510 Spadina

Service increase - Effective Sunday, May 8, 2005

  • Service will be increased during the daytime on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, to accommodate increased springtime ridership to Harbourfront and along Queens Quay. On Saturdays, service along Queens Quay to Union Station will be every 4 minutes 45 seconds. and the combined service on Spadina Avenue will be every 2 minutes 22 seconds. On Sundays and holidays, service along Queens Quay to Union Station will be every 6 minutes, and the combined service on Spadina Avenue will be every 3 minutes.

  • Service will be reduced during the early part of the midday from Monday to Friday, as ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to York University. The additional service which is operated between approximately 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. will be removed for the summer, and service to York University at these times will change from every 6 minutes to every 12 minutes.

124 Sunnybrook

Seasonal service reduction - Effective Monday, May 9, 2005

  • Service will be reduced during the afternoon peak period from Monday to Friday, as ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to and from York University, Glendon Campus. The service will change from every 7 minutes 30 seconds to every 10 minutes.

224 Victoria Park North

Route extension - Effective Monday, May 9, 2005

  • At the request of York Region Transit, this route will be extended north during the morning and afternoon peak periods from Monday to Friday to serve the East Cathedral area. The branch will be renamed 224D VICTORIA PARK NORTH (Don Mills Station-Major Mackenzie & Hazelton). The service on each of the 224D VICTORIA PARK NORTH (Don Mills Station-Major Mackenzie & Hazelton) and 224C VICTORIA PARK NORTH (Don Mills Station-14th Avenue) branches will change from every 33 minutes to every 35 minutes, and the combined service south of Steelecase Road will change from every 16 minutes 30 seconds to every 17 minutes 30 seconds.

  • There will be no change to the routing of the 224C VICTORIA PARK NORTH (Don Mills Station-14th Avenue) branch, or to the routing or service levels on the off-peak 24D VICTORIA PARK (Victoria Park Station-Major Mackenzie) branch.

165 Weston Rd North

Seasonal route extension - Effective Sunday, May 1, 2005

  • At the request of York Region Transit, service will be extended to Canada's Wonderland, on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, from Sunday, May 1 to Sunday, October 9, 2005. Buses to the park will operate every 30 minutes during the daytime on Saturdays, approximately every 50 minutes during the evening on Saturdays, and every 40 to 48 minutes on Sundays and holidays. Trip times in Toronto will not change. Customers travelling on 165 WESTON RD NORTH buses north of Steeles Avenue are required to pay a valid York Region Transit fare.

196 York University Rocket

Seasonal service reduction - Effective Monday, May 9, 2005

  • Service will be reduced during the daytime from Monday to Friday, as ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to and from York University. Before approximately 7:30 a.m., buses will operate every 12 minutes. From approximately 7:30 to 10:30 a.m., buses will operate every 6 minutes. During the midday, buses will operate every 8 minutes, and during the afternoon peak period buses will operate every 7 minutes.

Holiday Service

  • On Victoria Day, May 23, 2005, TTC routes which operate on Sundays in May will operate at the same level of service as on Sundays, but will start earlier, at approximately 6:00 a.m. Any routes that do not normally operate on Sundays, will not operate on the holiday.
