192 Airport Rocket

Service increase - Effective May 11, 2008

  • Service will be increased at busy times of the week, to reduce crowding and to accommodate increased summer travel to and from Pearson Airport.

  • From approximately 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Monday to Friday, the service will be improved from every 22 minutes 30 seconds to every 15 minutes.

  • From 12:00 noon until approximately 7:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, the service will be improved from every 12 minutes to every 10 minutes.

  • In the morning on Saturdays, the service will be improved from every 11 minutes to every 9 minutes.

  • In the morning on Sundays and holidays, the service will be improved from every 15 minutes to every 11 minutes.

117 Alness

Service change - Effective May 12, 2008

  • Service will be changed during the afternoon peak period from Monday to Friday, from every 13 minutes to every 12 minutes, so that trip times on the 117 ALNESS and 105 DUFFERIN NORTH routes are evenly spaced.

6 Bay

Seasonal service change - Effective May 11, 2008

  • Service will be operated during the early evening on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays in the summer. The last northbound trip will leave Queens Quay at approximately 10:30 p.m. Buses will operate every 17 minutes, and departure times will be the same as from Monday to Friday.

172 Cherry Street

Seasonal service change - Effective May 11, 2008

  • Later service will be operated, and the route will be extended from Commissioners Street to Cherry Beach (Clarke Beach Park) on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Monday-Friday evening service will operate every 30 minutes to Commissioners Street. Saturday, Sunday and holiday service will operate to Cherry Beach, every 20 minutes during the daytime and every 30 minutes in the evenings.

113 Danforth

Service increase - Effective May 17, 2008

  • Service will be increased in the afternoon on Saturdays, to reduce crowding. The 18 minute afternoon service will be extended to approximately 7:50 p.m., eastbound from Main Street Station.

28 Davisville

New seasonal service - Effective June 7, 2008

  • New summer Saturday daytime service will be introduced between Davisville Station and the Don Valley Brick Works Park, on Bayview Avenue in the Don Valley. The new 28A DAVISVILLE (Davisville Station-Brick Works) service will operate every 30 minutes on Saturdays only, between approximately 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., using an accessible low-floor bus. Service will operate in both directions via Davisville Avenue and Bayview Avenue.

29 Dufferin

Seasonal route extension - Effective May 11, 2008

  • Summer seasonal service will be operated on the route extension to Ontario Place. Buses on the 29B "To Exhibition & Ontario Place" branch will operate after 9:00 a.m. every day, around a counter-clockwise on-street loop around BMO Field. Buses will operate via Dufferin Street, Saskatchewan Road, Princes' Boulevard, Ontario Drive, Princes' Boulevard, Nunavut Road, Nova Scotia Avenue, Manitoba Drive, Saskatchewan Road, and Dufferin Street. This service will operate from May 11 until the Exhibition Place grounds close for the Canadian National Exhibition, in mid-August.

105 Dufferin North

Route extension - Effective May 12, 2008

  • At the request of York Region Transit, service will be extended north of Rutherford Road to Major Mackenzie Drive, during the peak periods from Monday to Friday. Buses on the new 105B (Downsview Station- Major Mackenzie) branch will operate over a large clockwise on-street loop via Confederation Parkway, Peter Rupert Avenue, Major Mackenzie Drive, and Dufferin Street. During the peak periods, alternate buses will continue to operate to Rutherford Road on the existing 105 (Downsview Station-Rutherford) branch. There will be no change to the routing or the service levels at off-peak times. During the morning peak period, service on each of the branches will operate every 28 minutes, and the combined service south of Rutherford Road will be improved from every 17 minutes to every 14 minutes. During the afternoon peak period, service on each of the branches will operate every 24 minutes, the combined service south of Rutherford Road will be improved from every 13 minutes to every 12 minutes.

111 East Mall

Service change - Effective May 11, 2008

  • During the afternoon on Saturdays, the service will be improved from every 12 minutes to every 11 minutes. During the afternoon on Sundays and holidays, the service will be changed from every 15 minutes to every 18 minutes. In the early evening on Sundays and holidays, the service will be improved from every 30 minutes to every 20 minutes.

32 Eglinton West

Service increase - Effective May 11, 2008

  • Service will be increased in the morning peak period from Monday to Friday, to reduce crowding. The combined service east of Keele Street will be improved from every 2 minutes 12 seconds to every 2 minutes 6 seconds. Service will be increased in the late evening from Monday to Friday, to reduce crowding. The combined service east of Keele Street will be improved from every 9 minutes to every 7 minutes 30 seconds.

509 Harbourfront

Seasonal service change - Effective May 11, 2008

  • Late evening service will be operated, seven days a week, because ridership increases along Harbourfront in the summer. From Monday to Friday, service will operate every 15 minutes On Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, service will operate every 10 minutes.

Summer weekend fare collection at Union Station

  • On Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from May 11 to Labour Day a modified fare collection procedure at Harbourfront will be used, in order to speed boarding at busy stops at busy times. The special summer fare collection procedure will include all of the eastbound streetcar stops on Queens Quay, between Bathurst Street and Queens Quay Station.

  • Customers who board streetcars at the eastbound stops on Queens Quay at Bathurst Street, Dan Leckie Way, Spadina Avenue, Rees Street, Simcoe Street, and York Street, and at the northbound platform at Queens Quay Station, will enter the streetcars through any door and will not pay a fare or be issued a transfer. Customers boarding cars at these stops will pay their fares instead when leaving the streetcar loop at Union Station. Normal pay-as-you-enter fare collection and transfer-issuing procedures will be used at all other stops on the 509 HARBOURFRONT and the 510 SPADINA routes. All customers boarding eastbound cars at the Exhibition and at the stops on Fleet Street will be issued transfers, to be used as proof of payment if they travel to Union Station. This fare collection procedure will be used up to and including Labour Day. From Monday to Friday during the summer, and seven days a week after Labour Day, normal pay-as-you-enter fare collection will apply at all stops.

38 Highland Creek

Seasonal service change - Effective May 12, 2008

  • Service will be reduced during the midday and afternoon peak period from Monday to Friday, as ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to and from
    Centennial College and U of T Scarborough. During the midday, the service will change from every 6 minutes to every 9 minutes. During the afternoon peak period, the service will change from every 7 minutes to every 9 minutes.

191 Highway 27 Rocket

Seasonal service change - Effective May 12, 2008

  • Service will be reduced in the morning peak period, midday, and afternoon peak period from Monday to Friday, as the classes at Humber College end in early May, and ridership will decline after then.

  • During the morning peak period, the service will change from every 6 minutes 30 seconds to every 7 minutes 15 seconds. Several midmorning trips on the 191A HIGHWAY 27 ROCKET (Humber College- Kipling Station) branch will be removed for the summer.

  • Between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. the service will change from every 10 minutes to every 12 minutes. Between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m., the service will change from every 10 minutes to every 11 minutes.

  • During the afternoon peak period, the service will change from every 6 minutes to every 6 minutes 30 seconds.

110 Islington South

Service increase - Effective May 17, 2008

  • Service will be increased in the evenings on Saturdays, to reduce crowding. Between approximately 7:00 p.m. and 12:00 midnight, service will be improved from every 30 minutes to every 15 minutes.

44 Kipling South

Seasonal service change - Effective May 12, 2008

  • Service will be reduced during the morning peak period, midday, and afternoon peak period from Monday to Friday, as ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to and from Humber College, Lakeshore Campus.

  • In the morning peak period, the service will change from every 4 minutes 30 seconds to every 6 minutes

  • During the midday, the service will change from every 6 minutes to every 8 minutes.

  • During the afternoon peak period, the service will change from every 4 minutes 30 seconds to every 6 minutes.

101 Parc Downsview Park

New service - Effective May 11, 2008

  • Service on this route will resume on May 11, 2008, and will operate from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday, and from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Service will be operated every 20 minutes.

134 Progress

Seasonal service change - Effective May 12, 2008

  • Starting Monday, May 12, service will be reduced during the morning and afternoon peak period from Monday to Friday on the 134C (Scarborough Centre Station-Centennial College)
    branch, as ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to Centennial College.

  • During the morning peak period, the service will change from every 5 minutes to every 8 minutes.

  • During the afternoon peak period, the service will change from every 6 minutes to every 8 minutes.

73 Royal York

Service increase - Effective May 11, 2008

  • Service will be increased in the daytime on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, to reduce crowding.

  • On Saturdays the service will be improved from every 15 minutes to every 13 minutes.

  • On Sundays and holidays the service will be improved from every 30 minutes to every 18 minutes.

86 Scarborough

Seasonal weekend service to Toronto Zoo - Effective May 17, 2008

  • The route will be extended to the Toronto Zoo on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, beginning on Saturday, May 17, 2008. Buses will follow the same routing to the zoo as they do from Monday to Friday. The last trip will leave from the zoo at approximately 8:30 p.m. The last day of summer weekend and holiday service to the zoo will be Labour Day, Monday,
    September 1, 2008.

Later service to Toronto Zoo - Effective May 20, 2008

  • Later service will be scheduled from the Toronto Zoo in the early evening from Monday to Friday. Beginning on Tuesday, May 20, 2008, the last trip will leave from the zoo at approximately 8:30 p.m.

85 Sheppard East

Later service to Toronto Zoo - Effective May 17, 2008

  • Later service will be provided from the Toronto Zoo in the early evening on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Beginning on Saturday, May 17, 2008, the last trips to Don Mills Station and Rouge Hill GO Station will leave from the zoo at approximately 8:30 p.m. The last day of the later service to the zoo will be Labour Day, Monday, September 1, 2008.

123 Shorncliffe

Service increase - Effective May 12, 2008

  • Service will be increased at busy times on the route, to reduce crowding.

  • In the morning peak period from Monday to Friday, the combined service north of Sherway will be improved from every 8 minutes 30 seconds to every 7 minutes 30 seconds.

  • In the midday from Monday to Friday, the service north of Sherway will be improved from every 12 minutes to every 9 minutes.

  • In the afternoon on Saturdays the combined service north of Sherway will be improved from every 12 minutes to every 10 minutes.

  • An earlier first southbound trip will be added on the 123 (Kipling Station-Long Branch via East Mall) branch on Sundays. The new trip will depart from Kipling Station at approximately 9:18 a.m. and will arrive at Long Branch Loop at approximately 9:42 a.m.

  • Service will be increased in the afternoon and early evening on Sundays and holidays, to reduce crowding. In the afternoon, the combined service north of Sherway will be improved from every 15 minutes to every 12 minutes In the early evening, the service will be improved from every 30 minutes to every 24 minutes.

510 Spadina

Seasonal service change - Effective May 5, 2008

  • The short turn service at King Street will be extended to the Queens Quay/Spadina Loop, on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, to accommodate increased springtime ridership to
    Harbourfront. The service levels will remain largely unchanged.

Summer weekend fare collection at Union Station - Effective May 11, 2008

  • On Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from May 11 to Labour Day a modified fare collection procedure at Harbourfront will be used, in order to speed boarding at busy stops at busy times. The special summer fare collection procedure will include all of the eastbound streetcar stops on Queens Quay, between Bathurst Street and Queens Quay Station.

  • Service will be reduced during the midday from Monday to Friday on the 60C (Finch Station-York University) branch, as ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to York University. The service on this branch will change from every 6 minutes to every 12 minutes.

124 Sunnybrook

Seasonal service change - Effective May 12, 2008

  • Service will be reduced during the midday and afternoon peak period from Monday to Friday, as ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to and from York University, Glendon Campus. Between approximately 1:30 and 6:00 p.m. the service will change from every 7 minutes 30 seconds to every 10 minutes.

168 Symington

Service increase - Effective May 12, 2008

  • Service will be increased in the midday from Monday to Friday, to reduce crowding. The service will be improved from every 13 minutes to every 10 minutes.

24 Victoria Park

Service increase - Effective May 12, 2008

  • Service will be increased at busy times from Monday to Friday, to reduce crowding. During the morning peak period, the combined service south of Sheppard Avenue will be improved from every 4 minutes to every 3 minutes 32 seconds. During the afternoon peak period from Monday to Friday, the combined service south of Sheppard Avenue will be improved from every 5 minutes to every 4 minutes 33 seconds. During the late evening from Monday to Friday the service will be improved from every 15 minutes to every 12 minutes.

68 Warden

Service increase - Effective May 12, 2008

  • Service will be increased in the morning peak period from Monday to Friday, to reduce crowding. The combined service south of Steeles Avenue will be improved from every 4 minutes 40 seconds to every 4 minutes. The service north of Steeles Avenue will change from every 18 minutes 40 seconds to every 20 minutes.

165 Weston Rd North

Route extension - Effective May 11, 2008

  • At the request of York Region Transit, the 165D (York Mills Station-Major Mackenzie) branch will be replaced at all times by a new 165G (York Mills Station-Major Mackenzie and Highway 400) branch that will be extended east on Major Mackenzie Drive to loop in the carpool lot at the south west corner of Major Mackenzie Drive and Highway 400. The 165F (York Mills Station-Major Mackenzie and Vellore Woods) branch will be extended north and will operate over a large clockwise on-street loop via Weston Road, Canada Drive, Cityview Boulevard, Vellore Woods Boulevard, Ashberry Boulevard, and Weston Road. This branch will be renamed the 165F (York Mills Station- Canada Drive) branch.

Seasonal route extension - Effective May 4, 2008

  • At the request of York Region Transit, service will be extended to Canada's Wonderland, on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, from Sunday, May 4 to Saturday, November 1, 2008.

  • Buses to the park will operate every 24 minutes during the daytime on Saturdays, and every 32 to 40 minutes on Sundays and holidays. Trip times in Toronto will not change.

  • Customers travelling on 165 WESTON RD NORTH buses north of Steeles Avenue are required to pay a valid York Region Transit fare.

92 Woodbine South

Seasonal service change - Effective May 12, 2008

  • Service will be increased in the evenings on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, to accommodate increased summer ridership to and from the lake shore. Service will be increased to every 10 minutes from every 20 minutes during the early evening. Later evening service will be operated, and the last trip times will be the same as from Monday to Friday.

196 York University Rocket

Service increase - Effective May 12, 2008

  • Service will be reduced during the daytime from Monday to Friday, as ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to and from York University. From approximately 7:30 to 10:30 a.m., buses will operate every 4 minutes. During the midday, buses will operate every 5 minutes. During the afternoon peak period, buses will operate every 4 minutes 30 seconds. During the early evening, buses will operate every 6 minutes.
