25 Don Mills

Service change north of Steeles Avenue - Service change effective May 9

  • At the request of York Region Transit, 25D Don Mills service between Steeles Avenue and 16th Avenue will be eliminated. The last day of service will be Friday, May 7, 2010. There will be no change to service levels on the rest of the 25 Don Mills route, between Pape Station and Steeles Avenue.

  • Customers who used the 25D Don Mills service for travel north of Steeles Avenue can use a new York Region Transit Route 90B – Leslie South service, beginning Monday, May 10, 2010. This service will operate between Don Mills Station and the 16th Avenue/Leslie Avenue area, looping via Commerce Valley Drive East, East Beaver Creek Road, West Beaver Creek Road, and Highway 7.

  • Between Don Mills Station and Steeles Avenue, northbound YRT Route 90/90B buses will pick up customers only. Between Steeles Avenue and Sheppard Avenue, southbound YRT Route 90/90B buses will drop off customers only. York Region Transit fares and GTA Weekly Passes only will be accepted on YRT Route 90/90B buses.

  • Customers who used the 25D Don Mills service to travel between stops south of Don Mills Station and north of Steeles Avenue will have to transfer between TTC 25 Don Mills and YRT Route 90B – Leslie South buses. The best location for transfers between northbound buses is inside Don Mills Station. Southbound transfers can be made at any bus stop on Don Mills Road between Cliffwood Road (south of Steeles Avenue) and 2980 Don Mills Road (north of Fairview Mall Drive).

28 Davisville

Seasonal route extension - Service change effective May 15

  • Summer Saturday daytime service will be operated between Davisville Station and the Don Valley Brick Works Park, on Bayview Avenue in the Don Valley. The 28A Davisville (Davisville Station-Brick Works) service will operate every 30 minutes on Saturdays only, between 7:30 a.m. and 3:15 p.m.

  • The first day of this seasonal service will be Saturday, May 15, 2010, and the last day of service this year will be Saturday, October 30, 2010.

29 Dufferin

Route change - Service change effective May 9

  • The routing of 29D “To Exhibition (Princes’ Gates)” buses will change, to better serve Exhibition Place attractions. Instead of operating both ways on Manitoba Drive, buses will operate over a clockwise loop via Manitoba Drive, Canada Drive, Princes’ Boulevard, Nunavut Road, and Nova Scotia Avenue.

Seasonal route extension

  • Summer seasonal service will be operated on the route extension to Ontario Place. Buses operating south of Dufferin Loop will alternate between the 29B “To Exhibition & Ontario Place” and 29D “To Exhibition (Princes’ Gates)” routings. Buses on the 29B routing will operate via Dufferin Street, Saskatchewan Road, Princes’ Boulevard, Ontario Drive, Princes’ Boulevard, Nunavut Road, Nova Scotia Avenue, Manitoba Drive, Saskatchewan Road, and Dufferin Street. At most times of the week the combined service north of Dufferin Loop will not change.

  • The Ontario Place extension will operate after approximately 9:00 a.m., seven days a week, except for when major events are being held on the Exhibition grounds. This service will operate from May 9, 2010 until mid-August 2010.

32 Eglinton West

Service increase - Service change effective May 10

  • A new westbound trip will be added from Monday to Friday, departing westbound from Weston Road at 5:25 a.m. and operating on the 32A “To Renforth and Skymark” branch.

35 Jane

Seasonal service reduction - Service change effective May 10

  • Express bus service will be reduced on the 35E (Jane Station-York University) branch in the morning and afternoon peak periods, from Monday to Friday, as ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to and from York University. During the morning peak period the service will change from every 12 minutes 40 seconds minutes to every 15 minutes. During the afternoon peak period the service will change from every 12 minutes 30 seconds to every 15 minutes.

38 Highland Creek

Seasonal service reduction - Service change effective May 10

  • Service will be reduced during the midday and afternoon peak period from Monday to Friday, as ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to and from Centennial College, Ellesmere Campus, and U of T Scarborough.

  • During the midday the combined service between Scarborough Centre Station and U of T Scarborough will change from every 6 minutes to every 7 minutes 30 seconds. Service east of U of T Scarborough will change from every 12 minutes to every 15 minutes. During the afternoon peak period the combined service between Scarborough Centre Station and U of T Scarborough will change from every 6 minutes to every 8 minutes. Service east of U of T Scarborough will change from every 12 minutes to every 16 minutes.

44 Kipling South

Seasonal service reduction - Service change effective May 10

  • Service will be reduced during the morning peak period, midday, and afternoon peak period from Monday to Friday, as ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to and from Humber College, Lakeshore Campus. During the peak periods the service will change from every 4 minutes 30 seconds to every 6 minutes. During the midday the service will change from every 6 minutes to every 8 minutes.

60 Steeles West

Seasonal service reduction - Service change effective May 10

  • Service will be reduced during the midday from Monday to Friday, as ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to and from York University. Service on the 60C (Finch Station-York University) branch will change from every 6 minutes to every 12 minutes.

67 Pharmacy

Schedule change - Service change effective May 10

  • An earlier southbound trip on the 67A (Victoria Park Station-Eglinton) branch will be added from Monday to Friday, departing southbound from Rannock Street and Pharmacy Avenue at 5:35 a.m.

72 Pape

Seasonal route extension to Cherry Beach - Service change effective May 9

  • The route will be extended from Commissioners Street to Cherry Beach (Clarke Beach Park) during the early and late evening from Monday to Friday and during the daytime and evenings on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Service will operate every 22 to 30 minutes on the 72B PAPE (Donlands Station-Union Stn via Commissioners and Cherry) branch. There will be no change to service on the main part of the route, on Pape Avenue, except during the late evening on Sundays and holidays, when service will change from every 12 minutes to every 15 minutes.

Later service to Toronto Zoo - Service change effective May 22

  • Later service will be provided from the Toronto Zoo in the early evening on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Beginning on Saturday, May 22, 2010, the last trips to Don Mills Station and Rouge Hill GO Station will leave from the zoo at approximately 8:30 p.m. The last day of the later service to the zoo will be Labour Day, Monday, September 6, 2010.

86 Scarborough

Seasonal service to Toronto Zoo - Service change effective May 22

  • The route will be extended to the Toronto Zoo on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, beginning on Sunday, May 9, 2010. Buses will follow the same routing to the zoo as they do from Monday to Friday. The last trip will leave from the zoo at approximately 8:30 p.m., every day. The last day of summer weekend and holiday service to the zoo will be Labour Day, Monday, September 6, 2010.

96 Wilson

Early morning and late evening service removed from Thistle Down Boulevard - Service change effective May 9

  • Service will be removed from Thistle Down Boulevard before 6:00 a.m. and after 10:00 p.m., every day. At these times, service will instead operate on a new 96F Wilson “To Tandridge & Islington” branch, and service will not operate through Thistle Down Boulevard. There will be no changes to trip times or service levels east of Tandridge Crescent.

  • The 96B Wilson (York Mills Station-Humberline & Albion Road) route will be changed to operate via Claireville Drive, at all times. Service on Humberline Drive, between Claireville Drive (south) and Huddersfield Road will be discontinued. There will be no change to service levels.

Between approximately 1:30 and 6:00 p.m. the service will change from every 7 minutes 30 seconds to every 10 minutes.

132 Milner

Schedule change - Service change effective May 10

  • Early morning trip times will be adjusted, from Monday to Friday. A new earlier southbound/westbound trip will be added. One lightly-used early eastbound/northbound trip will be eliminated.

During the morning peak period the service will change from every 5 minutes to every 8 minutes. During the afternoon peak period the service will change from every 6 minutes to every 8 minutes.

165 Weston Rd North

Seasonal route extension - Service change effective April 25

  • At the request of York Region Transit, service will be extended to Canada's Wonderland, on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, from Sunday, April 25 to Sunday, October 31, 2010. The extended service will operate from 9:35 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Saturdays, and from 9:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sundays and holidays. Buses to the park will operate every 24 to 30 minutes during the daytime on Saturdays, and every 32 to 40 minutes on Sundays and holidays. Customers travelling on 165 Weston Rd North buses north of Steeles Avenue are required to pay a valid York Region Transit fare.

191 Highway 27 Rocket

Seasonal service reduction - Service change effective May 10

  • Several trips on the 191A Highway 27 Rocket (Humber College-Kipling Station) branch will be removed for the summer, as the classes at Humber College end in early May, and ridership will decline after then. These trips will be cancelled:

  • Northbound trips from Kipling Station at 8:50, 9:10, 9:30, 9:50, 10:10, and 10:30 a.m.

  • Southbound trips from Humber College at 9:26, 9:46, 10:06, and 10:26 a.m.

  • Service will be reduced in the midday and afternoon peak period from Monday to Friday, as ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to and from Humber College.

  • Between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. the service will change from every 10 minutes to every 12 minutes. Between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m., the service will change from every 10 minutes to every 11 minutes. During the afternoon peak period, the service will change from every 6 minutes 30 seconds to every 7 minutes.

192 Airport Rocket

Seasonal service increase - Service change effective May 9

  • Service will be increased in the mornings, every day of the week, to accommodate increased seasonal travel to and from Pearson Airport. From Monday to Friday, the service will be improved from every 15 minutes to every 10 minutes before 7:00 a.m., and from every 12 minutes 15 seconds to every 10 minutes from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. On Saturday mornings the service will be improved from every 13 minutes 20 seconds to every 10 minutes. On Sunday and holiday mornings the service will be improved from every 20 minutes to every 13 minutes.

196 York University Rocket

Seasonal service reduction - Service change effective May 10

  • Service will be reduced during the daytime and early evening from Monday to Friday, as ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to and from York University. Service between Downsview Station and York University will operate every three to five minutes. Service between Sheppard-Yonge Station and York University will operate every seven to ten minutes.

224 Victoria Park North

Route extension - Service change effective May 10

  • At the request of York Region Transit, the Monday-Friday peak period only 224D (Don Mills Station-Major Mackenzie & Hazelton) branch will be extended to Honda Boulevard, north of Elgin Mills Road. The branch will be renamed 224D (Don Mills Station-Elgin Mills). There will be no change to the 20 minute service.

Northbound: Over the regular route, from Woodbine Avenue and Major Mackenzie Drive: east on Major Mackenzie, left onto Hazelton Ave, left onto Stony Hill Boulevard, right onto Woodbine Ave, left onto Elgin Mills, right onto Woodbine By-Pass, left onto Honda Blvd, left into Honda administrative site and looping via internal roadway.

Southbound: Depart from the Honda administrative site, right onto Honda Blvd, right onto Woodbine By-Pass, left onto Elgin Mills, right onto Woodbine Ave, left onto Stony Hill Blvd, right onto Hazelton Ave, right onto Major Mackenzie, continue on the existing routing from Major Mackenzie Drive and Woodbine Avenue.

509 Harbourfront

Heritage streetcar operation - Service change effective May 9

  • On Sundays from May 9 to September 5, 2010, a heritage Presidents Conference Committee (PCC) streetcar will be operated on the 509 Harbourfront route, from approximately 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Regular fares apply. Operation of this heritage service is subject to availability.

509 Harbourfront and 510 Spadina

Summer weekend fare collection at Union Station - Service change effective May 9

  • On Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from May 9 to September 6, 2010, a modified fare collection procedure at Harbourfront will be used, in order to speed boarding at busy stops at busy times. The special summer fare collection procedure will include all of the eastbound streetcar stops on Queens Quay, between Bathurst Street and Queens Quay Station.

  • Customers who board streetcars at the eastbound stops on Queens Quay at Bathurst Street, Dan Leckie Way, Spadina Avenue, Rees Street, Simcoe Street, and York Street, and at the northbound platform at Queens Quay Station, will enter the streetcars through any door and will not pay a fare or be issued a transfer. Customers boarding cars at these stops will pay their fares instead when leaving the streetcar loop at Union Station. Normal pay-as-you-enter fare collection and transfer-issuing procedures will be used at all other stops on the 509 Harbourfront and the 510 SPADINA routes. All customers boarding eastbound cars at the Exhibition and at the stops on Fleet Street will be issued transfers, to be used as proof of payment if they travel to Union Station. This fare collection procedure will be used up to and including Labour Day. From Monday to Friday during the summer, and seven days a week after Labour Day, normal pay-as-you-enter fare collection will apply at all stops.

511 Bathurst

Seasonal service increase - Service change effective May 9

  • Because of increased summer ridership on this route, service will be increased in the late evenings, from Monday to Saturday, and all day on Sunday and holiday. In the late evening from Monday to Friday, service will operate every 7 to 8 minutes. Throughout the day on Sundays and holidays the service will operate every 6 to 8 minutes.
