192 Airport Rocket

Seasonal service increase - Effective May 9, 2004

  • Service in the morning will be increased for the summer, as ridership to and from the airport increases. With this change, buses will run every 20 minutes, all day, every day.

6 Bay

Seasonal hours of service - Effective Sunday, May 9, 2004

  • Service will be operated during the early evening on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, from June 20 to Labour Day, Monday, September 6, 2004, to accommodate increased travel to and from the Harbourfront area and the Toronto Islands ferries. With this change, the last northbound trip will leave Queens Quay at approximately 10:30 p.m. Buses will run every 20 minutes.

172 Cherry Street

New seasonal service - Effective Sunday, May 9, 2004

  • New seasonal bus service will be operated from Union Station to Cherry Street, serving the Esplanade, Mill Street, the Distillery District, The Docks Entertainment complex, the Rochester Ferry, and Cherry Beach (Clarke Beach Park). The service will operate every day, from May 9 to September 6, 2004, during the midday, afternoon peak period, and evening from Monday to Friday, and the daytime and evening on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. The service will be accessible, and will use low-floor buses (not all buses and not all stops are accessible).

  • During the midday and afternoon peak period from Monday to Friday, the service will be provided by rerouting the 72A PAPE (Pape Stn-Union Stn via Commissioners) service via Cherry Beach, on a new branch called 72B PAPE (Pape Stn-Union Stn via Commissioners and Cherry St). Service will operate every 24 minutes during the midday and every 13 minutes during the afternoon peak period.

  • During the evening from Monday to Friday, and all day on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, a new 172 CHERRY STREET (Union Stn-Cherry Beach) route will provide the service. Buses will run every 20 minutes during the daytime and every 30 minutes in the evenings.

22 Coxwell

Service reduction - Effective Monday, May 10, 2004

  • Service on the 22A (Coxwell Station-Victoria Park) branch on Kingston Road will start approximately 40 minutes later from Monday to Friday, to eliminate an overlap in service with the 502 DOWNTOWNER and 503 KINGSTON RD streetcars.

29 Dufferin 

Seasonal hours of service - Effective Sunday, May 9, 2004

  • The route will be extended into Exhibition Place, to provide service closer to Ontario Place. This service will operate after approximately 9:00 a.m., seven days a week, except when major events are being held on the Exhibition grounds. There will be minor changes to service levels and trip times. Service to Exhibition Place and Ontario Place will operate until mid-August.

139 Finch East

Service reduction - Effective Monday, May 10, 2004

  • Service will be reduced during the afternoon peak period, to allow the resources to be reallocated to other, busier, TTC routes. The service will change from every 10 minutes to every 12 minutes.

509 Harbourfront

Seasonal service change - Effective Sunday, May 9, 2004

  • Late evening service will be operated, seven days a week, because ridership increases along Harbourfront in the summer. Streetcars will run every 20 minutes from Monday to Friday, and every 10 minutes on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

  • Service will be increased in the early evenings on weekends and holidays, because of seasonal ridership increases along Harbourfront in the summer. Service will be increased from every 20 minutes to every 10 minutes.

Seasonal hours of service change

  • Service to Exhibition Place will start an hour earlier on Saturday mornings because of increased activities at Exhibition Place in the summer. Streetcars will run every 10 minutes.

Summer weekend fare collection at Union Station

  • On Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from May 9 to September 6, a modified fare collection procedure at Harbourfront will be used, in order to speed boarding at busy stops at busy times. Customers who board streetcars at the eastbound stops on Queens Quay at Bathurst Street, Dan Leckie Way, Spadina Avenue, Rees Street, Simcoe Street, and York Street, and at the northbound platform at Queens Quay Station, will enter the streetcars through any door and will not pay a fare or be issued a transfer. Customers boarding streetcars at these stops will pay their fares instead when leaving the streetcar loop at Union Station. Normal pay-as-you-enter fare collection and transfer-issuing procedures will be used at all other stops on the 509 HARBOURFRONT and the 510 SPADINA routes. From Monday to Friday during the summer, and seven days a week after Labour Day, normal pay-as-you-enter fare collection will apply at all stops.

38 Highland Creek

Seasonal service reduction - Effective Monday, May 10, 2004

  • Service will be reduced during the morning and afternoon peak periods from Monday to Friday, as ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to and from the University of Toronto at Scarborough. In the morning peak period, the service will change from every 13 minutes to every 16 minutes 15 seconds. In the afternoon peak period, the service will change from every 14 minutes to every 17 minutes 30 seconds.

191 Highway 27 Rocket

Seasonal service reduction - Effective Monday, May 10, 2004

  • Several trips on the 191A HIGHWAY 27 ROCKET (Humber College-Kipling Stn) branch will be removed for the summer, as the classes at Humber College end in early May, and ridership will decline after then.

These trips will be cancelled:

Northbound trips from Kipling Station at 8:50, 9:10, 9:30, 9:50, 10:10, and 10:30 a.m.
Southbound trips from Humber College at 9:29, 9:49, 10:09, and 10:29 a.m.

44 Kipling South

Seasonal service reduction - Effective Monday, May 10, 2004

  • Service will be reduced during the morning and afternoon peak periods from Monday to Friday, as ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to and from Humber College, Lakeshore Campus. During the morning peak period the service will change from every 6 minutes to every 7 minutes. During the afternoon peak period, and the service will change from every 5 minutes to every 7 minutes 30 seconds.

54 Lawrence East

Service increase - Effective Monday, May 10, 2004

  • An additional trip will be added at the end of the morning peak period, from Monday to Friday, to reduce crowding. The trip will depart from Starspray Blvd at approximately 8:57 a.m., and will operate to Lawrence East Station.

133 Neilson

New evening service to Morningside Heights - Effective Monday, May 10, 2004

  • Monday-Friday early evening service, until approximately 9:00 p.m., will be operated on the 133C NEILSON (Scarborough Centre Stn-Morningside Heights) branch. Service will operate every 26 minutes on the 133C branch, and every 26 minutes on the 133B NEILSON (Scarborough Centre Stn-Finch/Crow Trail/Tapscott) branch. Combined service south of Tapscott Road will be improved from every 15 minutes to every 13 minutes.

72 Pape

New seasonal service - Effective Sunday, May 9, 2004

  • In conjunction with the new 172 CHERRY STREET seasonal bus service operating from Union Station to Cherry Street, a new 72B PAPE (Pape Station-Union Station via Commissioners and Cherry St) branch will provide service via Cherry Beach during the midday and afternoon peak period from Monday to Friday. Service will operate every 24 minutes during the midday and every 13 minutes during the afternoon peak period.

65 Parliament

Seasonal service change - Effective Saturday, May 15, 2004

  • The new 172 CHERRY STREET seasonal service will replace the 65A PARLIAMENT (Castle Frank Station-Union Station) service during the daytime on Saturdays (early morning service to Union Station on the 65A branch will continue to operate). Saturday daytime service will operate on the 65 (Castle Frank Station-Esplanade) branch instead.

  • Service will be reduced during the morning peak period from Monday to Friday, as ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to Centennial College. The service will change from every 5 minutes to every 8 minutes.

86 Scarborough

Seasonal route extension to Toronto Zoo - Effective Saturday, May 22, 2004

  • The route will be extended to the Toronto Zoo on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, until approximately 8:30 p.m. beginning on Saturday, May 22, 2004. Buses will follow the same routing to the zoo as they do from Monday to Friday. Service levels will not change. The last day of summer weekend and holiday service to the zoo will be Labour Day, Monday, September 6, 2004.

Hours of service to Toronto Zoo Seasonal service change

  • Later service will be provided from the Toronto Zoo in the early evening from Monday to Friday, beginning on Tuesday, May 25, 2004 to match the later closing time of the zoo, at 7:30 p.m. The last trip will leave from the zoo at approximately 8:30 p.m.

190 Scarborough Centre Rocket

Service increase - Effective Monday, May 10, 2004

  • Service will be increased during the morning and afternoon peak periods, from Monday to Friday, to reduce crowding. Additional time will be also added to the schedules during the peak periods and midday, to improve the reliability of the service.

  • During the morning peak period, the service will be increased from every 12 minutes to every 9 minutes. During the afternoon peak period, the service will be increased from every 12 minutes to every 10 minutes. There will be no change to the 15 minutes service level during the midday.

85 Sheppard East

Seasonal service change - Effective Saturday, May 22, 2004

  • Later service will be provided from the Toronto Zoo in the early evening on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, beginning on Saturday, May 22, 2004. The last trips to Don Mills Station, Sheppard-Yonge Station, and Rouge Hill GO Station will leave from the zoo at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Accessible service increase

  • New accessible service on the 85 SHEPPARD EAST route will be provided east of Toronto Zoo to Rouge Hill GO Station. Previously, accessible service was only provided west of Toronto Zoo to Sheppard-Yonge Station.

60 Steeles West

Seasonal service reduction - Effective Monday, May 10, 2004

  • Service will be reduced at the end of the morning peak period, as ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to and from York University. The additional service to York University which is operated between approximately 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. from Monday to Friday will be removed for the summer.

  • Service will be reduced during the afternoon peak period from Monday to Friday, as ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to and from York University, Glendon Campus. The service will change from every 7 minutes 30 seconds to every 10 minutes.

10 Van Horne

Service reduction - Effective Monday, May 10, 2004

  • Service will be reduced during the morning peak period, so that the resources can be reallocated to other, busier, TTC routes. The service will change from every 7 minutes 30 seconds to every 10 minutes.

165 Weston Road North

Seasonal route extension - Effective Saturday, May 8, 2004

  • At the request of York Region Transit, service will be extended to Canada's Wonderland, on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, from Saturday, May 8 to Sunday, October 10, 2004. The extended service will operate from 9:35 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Saturdays, and from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Sundays and holidays. Buses to the park will operate every 30 minutes during the daytime on Saturdays, approximately every 50 minutes during the evening on Saturdays, and every 40 to 48 minutes on Sundays and holidays. Trip times in Toronto will not change.

  • Customers travelling on 165 WESTON RD NORTH buses north of Steeles Avenue are required to pay a valid York Region Transit fare.

Seasonal service reduction - Effective Monday, May 10, 2004

  • Service will be reduced during the morning and afternoon peak periods and midday from Monday to Friday, as ridership declines due to a reduction in the number of students travelling to and from York University. Buses will operate every 15 minutes early in the morning, every 7 minutes 30 seconds during the main part of the morning peak period, every 10 minutes during the midday, and every 8 minutes in the afternoon peak period.

Holiday Service

Victoria Day - Monday, May 24, 2004

  • A regular holiday service will be scheduled on Victoria Day, Monday, May 24, 2004. This means that routes which operate on Sundays in May will operate at the same levels of service as on Sundays, but service will start earlier in the morning, at about the same time as on Saturdays. Subway starts at 6:00 a.m.

64 Main and 23 Dawes

Holiday service increase

  • Service will be increased on Victoria Day, May 24, 2004, to the same level as will be provided on Sundays and holidays later in the summer. The service will be improved from every 20 minutes to every 15 minutes.
