172 CHERRY STREET

Direct service to Rochester-Toronto Ferry - Effective Thursday, June 30, 2005

  • Service will be operated to the International Marine Passenger Terminal at Cherry Street and Unwin Avenue, to serve the Rochester-Toronto ferry. Service will be provided seven days a week by the 172 CHERRY STREET (Union Station-Cherry Beach and International Marine Passenger Terminal) route. From  Monday to Friday, buses will operate every 40 minutes, between approximately 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon, and between approximately 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. On Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, buses will operate every 20 minutes throughout the day, from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Eastbound/southbound: From Front Street at Bay Street (far side), east on Front Street, south on Scott Street, east on The Esplanade, north on Berkeley Street, east on Front Street, south on Parliament Street, east on Mill Street, south on Cherry Street, west on Unwin Avenue, south and west to the International Marine Passenger Terminal.

Northbound/westbound: From the International Marine Passenger Terminal, east on Unwin Avenue, south on Cherry Street to Cherry Beach (Clarke Beach) Park. Return north on Cherry Street, west on Mill Street, north on Parliament Street, west on Front Street, south on Berkeley Street, west on The Esplanade, north on Yonge Street, west on Wellington Street, south on Bay Street to west on Front Street.

New accessible service - Effective Sunday, June 19, 2005

  • New accessible service will be operated, using low-floor buses. There will be no change to service levels.

Service increase - Ridership Growth Strategy - Effective Saturday, June 25, 2005

  • As part of the TTC's Ridership Growth Strategy, service will be increased during the daytime on Saturdays. Service will be improved from every 7 minutes 30 seconds to every 6 minutes.

39 Finch East

Service increase - Ridership Growth Strategy - Effective Sunday, June 19, 2005

  • As part of the TTC's Ridership Growth Strategy, service will be increased on Saturdays and Sundays. During the daytime on Saturdays, service will be improved from every 5 minutes 30 seconds to every 4 minutes 45 seconds. During the daytime on Sundays, the combined service west of McCowan Road will be improved from every 6 minutes 30 seconds to every 6 minutes.

36 Finch West

Service increase - Ridership Growth Strategy - Effective Sunday, June 19, 2005

  • As part of the TTC's Ridership Growth Strategy, service will be increased on Saturdays and Sundays. During the daytime on Saturdays, the combined service east of Kipling Avenue will be improved from every 7 minutes 30 seconds to every 6 minutes. During the daytime on Sundays, service will be improved from every 7 minutes to every 6 minutes 30 seconds.

509 Harbourfront

Seasonal Service increase - Effective Sunday, June 19, 2005

  • Service will be increased during the midday, afternoon peak period, and evenings from Monday to Friday, and during the daytime and early evening on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, because ridership increases along Harbourfront in the summer. On weekdays, service will operate every 10 minutes in the midday, every 8 minutes in the afternoon, and every 12 minutes after 7:00 p.m. On Saturdays, Sunday, and holidays, between 11:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., service will operate every 8 minutes.

  • Service to Exhibition Place will start an hour earlier from Monday to Friday because of increased activities at Exhibition Place in the summer.

Service increase - Ridership Growth Strategy - Effective Monday, June 20, 2005

  • As part of the TTC's Ridership Growth Strategy, service will be increased in the midday from Monday to Friday and during the daytime on Saturdays. During the midday from Monday to Friday, service on each of the 43 (Kennedy Station-Steeles) and 43B (Kennedy Station-Scarborough Centre Station) branches will be improved from every 24 minutes to every 15 minutes. Combined service south of Progress Avenue will be improved from every 12 minutes to every 7 minutes 30 seconds. During the daytime on Saturdays, service on each of the 43 (Kennedy Station-Steeles) and 43B (Kennedy Station-Scarborough Centre Station) branches will be improved from every 18 minutes to every 12 minutes. Combined service south of Progress Avenue will be improved from every 9 minutes to every 6 minutes.

504 King

During the daytime on Saturdays, service will be improved from every 9 minutes 30 seconds to every 8 minutes 40 seconds. During the daytime on Sundays, service will be improved from every 10 minutes to every 9 minutes.

30 Lambton

Seasonal route extension - Effective Sunday, June 19, 2005

  • Service will be operated into High Park on the 30B LAMBTON (Kipling Station- High Park via High Park Station) branch, on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, between 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Service will operate every 20 minutes on Saturdays, and every 30 minutes on Sundays and holidays. The last day of this summer service will be Labour Day, Monday, September 5, 2005.
