25 DON MILLS
-
Danforth
Division has found that additional running time is required on Saturdays to
improve the reliability of service, and a recent passenger count supports that
conclusion. Four minutes will be added to the round-trip running time. The
headway will be widened from 6 min 15 s to 6 min 30 s, and the average number of
customers on each bus during the busiest hour will remain within the vehicle
loading standard.

HUNTINGWOOD, 85 SHEPPARD EAST, and 10 VAN HORNE (RTEP Sheppard
Subway construction)
-
The
schedules on these routes will be changed, to allow for the greater time
that is now being taken by buses west of Don Mills Road, as a result of the
construction of the Sheppard subway line.
-
Five
minutes of scheduled running time will be added on the 139 HUNTINGWOOD route
in the afternoon peak period, and the headway will be increased from 15 min
to 16 min. Additional running time during the afternoon peak period was
introduced in the June 1998 board period on the 85 SHEPPARD EAST route, and
the services designs will be revised for the July 1998 board period as shown
below.
-
Five minutes of
scheduled running time will be added on the 10 VAN HORNE route in the afternoon
peak period, and one bus will be added. The cost to provide the additional bus
will be charged to the subway construction project.

501 QUEEN, 502
DOWNTOWNER, 503 KINGSTON RD, 506/306 CARLTON
-
The special
trackwork project at Queen and Connaught originally scheduled for the Victoria
Day long weekend during the May board period, has been deferred to the July 31
to August 4 civic holiday long weekend
-
Streetcars on
the 501 QUEEN. 502 DOWNTOWNER, and 503 KINGSTON RD routes will operate as far
east as Russell carhouse only. Two bus services will be operated, between
Russell carhouse and Neville Park loop, and between Russell carhouse and Bingham
loop. Cars on the 506/306 CARLTON route running in and out of service to and
from Russell Carhouse will be diverted via Broadview and Gerrard.
-
The temporary
services will be operated by the streetcar divisions and by Danforth Division at
the divisional level.
82 ROSEDALE
-
The first three
round trips on Saturday mornings on the 82 ROSEDALE route, leaving Rosedale
Station at 6:15, 6:40, and 6:50 a.m., will be removed because of very low
ridership. On the day of the most recent passenger count, two customers used the
trips that will be removed. The first bus on Saturdays will now enter service
westbound on South Drive at Glen Road at 6:55 a.m., and the first eastbound trip
will leave from Rosedale Station at 7:00 a.m.
24 VICTORIA
PARK
-
Birchmount
Division and the Schedules section of Service Planning have determined that
additional running time is required on this route between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. on
Saturdays, before the round trip running time increases to 90 minutes. One
additional bus is required to ensure that the average number of customers on
each bus does not exceed the vehicle loading standard.

-
Service will be
revised on Saturdays and Sundays, to eliminate excessive running time and to
reduce service at times of very low ridership. With the present schedule, buses
consistently arrive at Keele Station well ahead of schedule, and Arrow Road
Division staff report that operators are not able to drive slow enough to keep
to schedule.
-
On Saturdays,
before 9:00 a.m. (time at KeeIe Station), the round-trip running time will be
reduced from 72 min to 60 min. The two northbound trips at 4:50 and 5:20 a.m.
will be eliminated, and service will be increased from 15 min to 30 min. Only
four customers used these trips at Keele Station on the day of the most recent
count. Between approximately 6:00 and 8:40 a.m., two fewer buses will be used,
the headway will change from 12 min to 15 min, and the average number of
customers per bus will remain within the loading standards.
-
From 8:40 a.m.
to 12:20 noon on Saturdays, and during the daytime on Sundays, the running time
will be reduced from 72 min to 66 min, and 6 min of recovery time will be
scheduled. From 12:20 noon to 7:00 p.m. on Saturdays, the running time will be
reduced from 74 min to 68 min, and 6 min of recovery time will be scheduled.
There will be no change to the headway at these times.
-
In the evening
on Saturdays and Sundays, the running time will be reduced to 56 minutes, and 4
min of recovery time will be scheduled. There will be no change to the headway.

320 YONGE BLUE
NIGHT
-
Two additional
early-morning southbound trips will be added, Monday to Friday, on the 320 YONGE
Blue Night route, leaving York Mills Road at 4:39 and 4:53 a.m. These additional
trips are necessary to reduce consistent overcrowding at that time of the
morning, before the subway opens. Currently, the level of service increases from
a bus every 15 minutes to a bus every 7 min 30 s at 4:48 a.m., southbound from
York Mills Road. This change will result in the 7 min 30 s level of service
beginning at 4:18 a.m. from York Mills Road on weekday mornings.
-
Five additional
northbound trips will be added, on the Saturday late-night schedule (early
Sunday morning), between 1:45 and 3:00 a.m., to reduce overcrowding. This change
will reduce the headway before 3:00 a.m. from 7 min 30 s to 5 min. The average
number of customers on each bus during the busiest hour will be reduced from 57
to 38, within the vehicle loading standard of 50. The present timed transfers
will be maintained, but the supplementary trips will not make timed connections.
