111 East
Mall and 32 Eglinton West
Temporary schedule
change - City of Toronto bridge reconstruction
-
The City of Toronto
is rebuilding the Eglinton Avenue bridge over Mimico Creek (just east of the
East Mall). The road has remained open over the bridge, but is
restricted to one lane in each direction. This project began in May, and
will last through to the fall. All trips on the 111 East Mall route and on
the 32B Eglinton West (Renforth/Skyway-Eglinton Stn) branch will continue to
operate over the present route. To reduce the effects of traffic delays,
additional time will be added to the schedules. There will be no change to
service levels. Some departure times will change.
504 King
and 303 Don Mills
Track reconstruction
-
Two
track reconstruction projects will take place on Broadview Avenue. The track
from Dundas Street to Queen Street will be rebuilt in a project which will
last approximately four weeks. The track at the intersection of Broadview
and Dundas will be rebuilt, in a project that will be done over the extended
Labour Day weekend.
-
During
the Dundas-Queen track project, streetcars on the 504 King route will
operate in both directions via Dundas and Parliament. Streetcars on the 505
Dundas route will operate over their normal routing. Buses on the 303
Don Mills overnight route will operate southbound via Dundas Street and
River Street. During the extended Labour Day weekend when the
Dundas/Broadview intersection is closed during reconstruction, cars on both
the 504 King and 505 Dundas routes will divert both ways via Gerrard and
Parliament, and buses on the 303 Don Mills
route will divert via south on
Broadview, west on Gerrard, south on River, east on Queen, north on Carlaw,
west on Gerrard, and north on Broadview. There will be no change to the
service levels for any of these routes.
-
During
the construction, there will be no 504 King service to the stops on Queen
between Broadview and King, or to the stops on King between Queen and
Parliament. No replacement bus service will be operated. Customers who
normally use these stops should travel instead on 501 Queen cars, 502
Downtowner cars (Monday-Friday peak periods and midday only), or 503
Kingston Rd. cars (Monday-Friday peak periods only), or should walk to 504
King cars at Dundas Street or at Parliament Street.
-
All
service will return to the usual routings on Tuesday, September 4, 2001.
