Routing change - Effective August 2, 2009

  • The westbound routing approaching Kipling Station will be changed, to improve service reliability. Buses travelling towards Kipling Station will operate west on Dundas Street, north on Beamish Drive, east on Bloor Street, south on Kipling Avenue, west on Viking Lane, south and west on St Albans Road to Kipling Station. Buses will serve a new bus stop on Bloor Street, east of Beamish Drive. There will be no change to service levels, trip times, or to the eastbound routing.

71 RUNNYMEDE

Service reliability improvement - Effective August 3, 2009

  • Additional time will be added to the schedules from Monday to Friday, to improve service reliability.

  • During the morning peak period and the midday there will be no change to service levels, but specific trip times will change.

  • During the afternoon peak period and the early evening the service on each of the 71 (Runnymede Station-St Clair) and 71B (Runnymede Station-Industry Street) branches will change from every 20 minutes to every 22 minutes. The combined service between St Clair Avenue and Runnymede Station will change from every 10 minutes to every 11 minutes.

77 SWANSEA

Service reliability improvement - Effective August 3, 2009

502 DOWNTOWNER and 503 KINGSTON RD

Streetcars replaced by buses - Effective August 2, 2009

  • A planned construction project at Bingham Loop will require temporary changes to several routes.

  • Starting Sunday, August 2, buses will replace streetcars on the 502 DOWNTOWNER and 503 KINGSTON RD routes.

  • During the morning and afternoon peak periods service will operate every 12 minutes on each of these routes.

  • Service during the midday from Monday to Friday will operate every 20 minutes.

  • The replacement bus service will follow the same route as the streetcar service.

  • Buses serving Bingham Loop will be diverted to loop on-street around the construction.

SERVICE FOR Caribana Festival - Saturday, august 1 and Sunday, August 2

  • The Parade will take place on Saturday, August 1, at Exhibition Place and along Lake Shore Boulevard, west to Parkside Drive. Service on 509 Harbourfront, 511 Bathurst, and 29 Dufferin routes will be increased so that each route operates approximately every one-to-two minutes. Express bus service to the parade will be operated from Keele Station (to Parkside Drive & Lake Shore Boulevard), Dundas West Station (to Queen Street & Roncesvalles Avenue), and Lansdowne Station (via Jameson Avenue to Springhurst Avenue & Dunn Avenue). Each express bus service will operate approximately every two-to-four minutes.

  • Exhibition Loop and Dufferin Loop will become fare-paid areas. Customers will pay their fare upon entering the loops, and can board streetcars and buses through any door.

  • On the Sunday of the long weekend, when there are events at Ontario Place, streetcars will operate every two-to-three minutes from Union Station on the Queen's Quay portion of the 509 Harbourfront and 510 Spadina routes, and an express bus service will be operated every five-to-eight minutes on the 6 Bay route, from Bay Station and Union Station to Queens Quay.

  • This express rocket route will be operated every day of the CNE. Frequent buses will operate non-stop from Dundas West Station to the Exhibition (Dufferin Loop).
    Stops served: Dundas West Station, Dufferin Street & Springhurst Avenue (southbound trip), and Dufferin Gates Loop (northbound trip) only.

Civic Holiday and Labour Day - Holiday service

  • On Monday, August 3, and Monday, September 7, a regular holiday service will be operated on most TTC routes (see below for exceptions).

  • Regular holiday service for Civic Holiday and Labour Day is Sunday service, but service will start earlier, about 6 a.m.

York Region Transit

  • Regular holiday service will operate on 68 WARDEN , 102 MARKHAM RD , 105 DUFFERIN NORTH , 107 KEELE NORTH, 129 McCOWAN NORTH , 160 BATHURST NORTH and 165 WESTON RD NORTH .

  • No service will be operated on 17A BIRCHMOUNT , 24D VICTORIA PARK , 25D DON MILLS , 35D JANE , 37D ISLINGTON and  224 VICTORIA PARK NORTH .
