End of seasonal service

  • With the end of the summer, service will be reduced in the morning, every day, to the every 40 minute non-summer service level. At all other times, service will operate every 20 minutes.

21 Brimley Accessible symbol

Service increase

  • Service will be increased during the afternoon peak period on the 21A (Kennedy Station-Scarborough Centre Station) branch, because of the lower peak period capacity of the new low-floor buses. The service will be improved from every 13 minutes 20 seconds to every 10 minutes.

306 Carlton

Service increase

  • Service will be increased between approximately 2:00 and 3:00 a.m. every Sunday morning (late Saturday night), to reduce crowding. The service will be improved from every 30 minutes to every 20 minutes.

111 East Mall

Service increase

  • Service will be increased during the morning peak period from Monday to Friday, to reduce crowding. The service will be improved from every 10 minutes 30 seconds to every 8 minutes 30 seconds.

Service increase

  • An earlier round-trip will be added from Monday to Friday.

  • New first northbound trip from Kipling Station departing at approximately 5:25 a.m. New first southbound trip from Martin Grove and Eglinton departing at approximately 5:10 a.m.

32 Eglinton West

Schedule change

  • The departure times of three school trips serving Marshall McLuhan Catholic Secondary School from Monday to Friday will be changed to better match the dismissal time of the school. The trips will be changed to depart from the school at approximately 2:43, 2:48, and 2:51 p.m.

139 Finch East

Service reduction

  • Service will be reduced during the morning and afternoon peak periods from Monday to Friday, to more closely match service levels on this new route with observed ridership levels. During the morning peak period, the combined service west of McCowan Road will change from every 5 minutes to every 6 minutes. During the afternoon peak period, the service will change from every 7 minutes 30 seconds to every 10 minutes, and all buses in the afternoon will operate on the 139E (Don Mills Station-Neilson & Finch) branch.

39 Finch East Accessible symbol

Service increase

  • Service will be improved during the morning peak period from Monday to Friday to reduce overcrowding on the express branches of the route, and to make service more reliable. The combined service on the express branches west of McCowan Road will be improved from every 4 minutes 40 second to every 3 minutes 30 seconds. There will be no change to service on the 39 Finch East local branches.

  • Service will be increased at the start of the afternoon peak period, from Monday to Friday, to reduce crowding. Three additional eastbound trips will be scheduled to depart from Finch Avenue and Arrow Road at 2:54 p.m., 3:06 p.m., and 3:09 p.m.

School Trip details

  • Beginning with the new school year in September 2003, St. Basil-the-Great College School will be returning to one dismissal time, at 2:45 p.m., instead of the two dismissal times at 2:05 p.m. and 3:25 p.m. that have been in place during the last school year. Four school trips will be removed as a result of the dismissal time change, and the four remaining trips will be adjusted to depart at 3:00 p.m., from Monday to Friday.

  • A bus will arrive at the school for loading at 2:50 p.m. and will depart northbound/westbound from school to Humberwood Loop at 3:00 p.m. This trip will display the destination sign

509 Harbourfront

Seasonal service change

  • Service will return to the spring/fall levels, to match seasonal ridership changes along Harbourfront. Late evening service, seven days a week, will be eliminated for the fall and winter. Service west of Fleet Loop to Exhibition will start at approximately 9:00 a.m. from Monday-Saturday, instead of the earlier start in the summer. Service will be operated every 10 to 13 minutes in the peak periods, every 10 minutes during the daytime on weekends and holidays, and every 20 minutes during the midday from Monday to Friday and the early evening.

  • Late evening service will end.

  • Service will be increased during the peak periods and midday from Monday to Friday, to reduce crowding and to accommodate the projected increased ridership at Humber College resulting from the double cohort. During the morning peak period, the service will be improved from every 11 minutes to every 9 minutes 30 seconds. During the midday, from approximately 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m., the service will be improved from every 20 minutes to every 15 minutes. During the afternoon peak period, the service will be improved from every 11 minutes 15 seconds to every 10 minutes.

  • An additional round trip will be added, Monday to Friday, to reduce crowding. The new trip will depart from Kennedy Station at approximately 9:10 p.m. and from Meadowvale Loop at 9:45 p.m.

35 Jane

Additional express stop

  • A stop will be added on the 35E (Jane Station-York University Express) branch at Jane Street and Trethewey Drive/Denison Road East, in both directions.

107 Keele North

Schedule change

  • The first two trips southbound from Teston Road will be changed, at the request of York Region Transit, to depart 10 minutes earlier, at 5:15 and 5:45 a.m. This change will allow customers on the first southbound 107 Keele North trip to connect with the first southbound subway trains at Downsview Station.

  • Service will return to York University.

  • Service will be increased at the end of the morning peak period and at the beginning of the afternoon peak period, from Monday to Friday, to accommodate the projected increased ridership at Humber College resulting from the double cohort.

  • Two additional southbound trips from Kipling Station will be added between approximately 9:00 and 10:00 a.m., and three additional northbound trips from Lake Shore will be added between approximately 2:00 and 3:00 p.m.

The service on the 116A/E (Kennedy Stn-Scarborough College and Conlins Rd Express) branch will be improved from every 24 minutes to every 18 minutes.

Service increase

  • An earlier first round trip will be added, Monday to Friday, departing from Finch Avenue at approximately 5:12 a.m. and departing from Scarborough Centre Station at approximately 5:39 a.m. This will allow customers to connect with the first westbound train on the 3 Scarborough RT from Scarborough Centre Station.

131 Nugget

  • A stop will be added at Lawrence Avenue and Brimley Road, on the 131E (Old Finch-Kennedy Stn Express) branch, in both directions.

72 Pape Accessible symbol

Service increase

  • Service will be increased during the morning peak period, because of the lower peak period capacity of the new low-floor buses. The combined headway north of Eastern Avenue will be improved from every 8 minutes 30 seconds to every 7 minutes. The name of the main branch will be changed to 72 (Pape Stn-Eastern) from 72 (Pape Stn-Queen), to more accurately describe the southern terminus at Eastern Avenue

  • Service will be improved at the end of the morning peak period from Monday to Friday to better match the travel patterns of students travelling to Centennial Collage, and to provide more reliable service for the increased enrolment due to the double cohort. Eastbound service on the 134C (Scarborough Centre Stn-Centennial College) branch will be improved from every 8 minutes to every 5 minutes, between approximately 9:20 and 10:30 a.m.

  • Service will be increased between 2:00 and 3:00 a.m., from Monday to Saturday, to reduce crowding.

  • Saturday, Sunday, and holiday extended evening hours of service to Toronto Zoo will end.

60 Steeles West Accessible symbol

Service reliability improvement/service increase

  • The schedule will be changed, from Monday to Friday, to improve service reliability and to increase service. At most times of the day, additional time will be added to the schedules to reduce delays caused by traffic congestion.

  • During the morning peak period there will be no change to the service levels. During the midday, the combined service east of York University will change slightly, from every 11 minutes 30 seconds to every 12 minutes. Additional service will be added between York University and Finch Station, between approximately 1:30 and 3:00 p.m., to reduce crowding.

  • During the afternoon peak period, the combined service east of York University will change slightly, from every 3 minutes 30 seconds to every 3 minutes 37 seconds.

  • During the early evening, the combined service east of York University will change slightly, from every 11 minutes to every 12 minutes. Additional service will be added between York University and Finch Station, between approximately 7:00 and 10:00 p.m., to reduce crowding.

124 Sunnybrook

Service increase

  • One round trip will be added at the end of the morning peak period, Monday to Friday, to reduce crowding.

  • A 9:13 a.m. eastbound departure from Lawrence Station will be added. A 9:24 a.m. westbound departure from Sunnybrook Hospital will be added.

  • During the morning peak period, from every 4 minutes 30 seconds to every 4 minutes;
    During the midday, and from every 4
    minutes 20 seconds to every 4 minutes;
    During the afternoon peak period.

  • Service from Sheppard-Yonge Station to York University will be improved from every 10 minutes 40 seconds to every 10 minutes during the morning peak period, and from every 12 minutes to every 10 minutes during the afternoon peak period.

Seasonal service changes

  • The seasonal service reductions in peak periods on the Yonge-University-Spadina Subway, Bloor-Danforth Subway, and bus and streetcar routes, in May and June 2003 will end on Friday, August 29, 2003. Regular service levels will resume, starting on Tuesday, September 2, 2003.

  • Extra school trips, in the morning peak and early afternoon peak periods will be restored in September 2003.

The seasonal service changes that began in May and June 2003, will end after Labour Day, Monday, September 1, 2003, on the following routes:

6 Bay – Saturday, Sunday, and holiday evening service will end.

30 Lambton – Saturday, Sunday, and holiday route extension into High Park will end.

65D Parliament Accessible symbol – Saturday service via Mill Street will end.

80 Queensway – Sunday and holiday service east of Humber Loop will end.

86 Scarborough – Monday-Friday extended evening hours of service to Toronto Zoo will end. Saturday, Sunday, and holiday route extension to Toronto Zoo will end.
