34B EGLINTON EAST

  • Every third bus on the 34 EGLINTON EAST route will be extended via Kingston Rd and Guildwood Parkway to loop via Morningside, Cumber and Poplar starting September 8th. Initially service provided 12 hours a day, 5 days a week. Initially service on this new 24.6 round trip mile route is provided every 20-minutes.

41 KEELE

  • Route extended north of Sheppard on Keele to Finch, 12 hours a day, five days a week. At all other times, buses run to Sheppard and Keele only (41) Route 41E "Weston Rd via Sheppard" replaced by new SHEPPARD 84 route.

84 SHEPPARD

  • On and after September 8th, a new SHEPPARD cross-town bus route will link Weston Road with Agincourt.

  • The fifteen mile route (the longest in the system) will replace the DAWES-SHEPPARD 23D service on Sheppard Ave, the former SHEPPARD 84 service between Wilson Hts and Shaunghnessy Blvd, and the KEELE 41E bus service on Sheppard between Keele and Weston Rd.

  • Authorization from the department of National Defense, gave the Commission the authority to operate this service through the R.C.A.F. Downsview Air Base. Many special arrangements had to be made, in view of the security regulations which had to be adhered to. Specific TTC stops are now made within the Downsview Property at locations where security personnel can check alighting passengers to ensure they have the necessary special passes. TTC Operators are also affected by the security regulations. While operating within the 'restricted' areas, they are requested in an emergency to remain with the bus and seek assistance from base personnel or passing vehicles. Considering that this area is out-of-bounds to other users of the roads, the Commission readily complied.
