17 Birchmount

  • January 19 will be the first day of a nine-month diversion of the Birchmount route to allow construction of a railway bridge at the CPR tracks north of Ellesmere Avenue.

  • The Birchmount bus will run both ways via Ellesmere, Warden, Arkona, Scarden and Birchmount during the period of construction. A Monday-Friday rush-hours only short-turn service will also operate during the time that the diversion is in effect and will operate via Birchmount, Ellesmere, Rolark and back to Ellesmere.

39A finch east

  • Starting Tuesday, January 3 the rush-hour service on the 39A FINCH EAST "McCowan" route will be improved from every 8 minutes to approximately every 5½ minutes.

31 Greenwood

  • An "evening hours only" extension of the 31 GREENWOOD bus route to serve the new South Central Postal Facility begins Sunday, January 1 every day for a six-month trial period.

  • The route will be extended from its present terminus at Greenwood and Queen and will run west on Queen, south on Leslie, east on Eastern Avenue, north on Woodfield, west on Queen and north on Greenwood.

  • The first bus over the extended routing leaves Greenwood Station at 9:23 p.m. and reaches the Postal Gacility on Eastern Avenue at 9:35 p.m.

  • Buses will leave every 25 minutes, with the last southbound trip from Greenwood Station at 12:43 a.m. and the last northbound trip leaving the Postal Facility at 1:10 a.m.

January 28, 1978 - Changes associated with opening of Spadina Subway

4 ANNETTE

  • Buses will provide an on-street connection with the Spadina subway at Dupont Station (Dupont & Spadina).

5 AVENUE RD

  • Buses will loop southbound around Queen's Park Cres at all hours. Evening, Sunday and Holiday service south of Queen's Park replaced by University Subway (Evening and Sunday connection with St George Station discontinued).

7 BATHURST

  • Existing service split into three branches BATHURST 7 buses will will run from Wilson Station via Wilson & Bathurst to the existing looping at Steeles. 7A buses will run from St Clair West Station via St Clair & Bathurst to Steeles. 7B buses will run from Bathurst Station via Bathurst & Wilson to Wilson Station.

18 CALEDONIA

  • Buses will run both ways via Bridgeland with a new on-street connection at Yorkdale Station. During Monday to Friday rush hours, alternate buses will run both ways via Orfus.

108 DOWNSVIEW

  • A new route replacing the 35C "Driftwood" branch of the JANE route. Buses will run 12 hours a day, Monday to Friday only from Wilson Station via Wilson Heights, Sheppard, Tuscan, St. Regis, Keele, Grandravine and Driftwood looping via Stong Court and Jane to Driftwood.

29 DUFFERIN

  • Service north of Wilson replaced by the new FAYWOOD and WILSON HEIGHTS routes, Buses will run from Exhibition West Loop via Dufferin and Wilson to Wilson Station. Additional rush hour buses will run from Exhibition West Loop via Dufferin to Briar Hill looping via Briar Hill, Marlee and Roselawn to Dufferin.

32 EGLINTON WEST

  • Buses will run both ways through Eglinton West Station. Monday to Friday short turn rush hour service will run between Eglinton West Station and Weston Rd only.

104 FAYWOOD

  • A new route replacing parts of the DUFFERIN and SHEPPARD WEST route. Buses will run 12 ours a day, Monday through Saturday via Faywood and Wilmington looping via Overbrook, Wilson Heights and Finch to Wilmington. Sunday and Holidays buses will run over the regular route to Wilson Heights and Overbrook looping via Wilson Heights and Sheppard to Faywood.

33 FOREST HILL

  • Buses will run from St Clair Station via Pleasant Blvd, Yonge, Lawton, Lonsdale, Dunvegan, Hillholm, Russell Hill, Forest Hill Rd, Spadina, Eglinton. Vesta Drive, Elderwood, Spadina and St Clair to St Clair West Station.

14 GLENCAIRN

  • Buses will provide an on-street connection with the Spadina subway at Glencairn Station (Glencairn & Allan Expressway).

35 JANE 

  • 35C "Driftwood" branch replaced by new 108 DOWNSVIEW route.

41 KEELE

  • Buses will run from Lansdowne Station over the regular route to Steeles (York University). During Monday to Friday rush hours, alternate buses will loop at Steeles via Canarctic, Petrolia Steeles and Keele. Service north of Steeles provided by new 107 KEELE NORTH buses. No change to 41B "Forthbridge" branch of the route.

107 KEELE NORTH

  • A new route replacing part of the KEELE route north of Steeles. Buses will run from Wilson Station via Wilson Heights, Sheppard. Tuscan, St. Regis Cres, Ceramic. LePage and Keele to the CNR North Road Loop.

52 LAWRENCE

  • Buses will run both ways through Lawrence West Station. A new rush hour branch. replacing part of the 59 MAPLE LEAF route will run 12 hours a day, Monday through Friday from Lawrence West station via Lawrence and Culford looping via Flamborough, Keele and Gulliver to Culford.

59 MAPLE LEAF

  • Buses will run 12 hours a day, Monday to Friday from Lawrence West Station via Lawrence, Culford, Maple Leaf, Church and Weston Rd looping via John, South Station and Lawrence to Weston Rd. Mini buses replaced by regular diesel buses.

63 OSSINGTON

  • "Eglinton" branch extended to connect with the Spadina Subway. Buses will run from King via the regular route to Eglinton and Oakwood, the via Eglinton to Eglinton West Station

109 RANEE

  • A new route replacing two branches of the LAWRENCE route Buses will run 12 hours a day, Monday through Saturday from Lawrence West Station via Lawrence, Varna and then via Varna or Flemington, Ranee, Ameer and Neptune looping via Bathurst and Hotspur to Neptune. Evenings, Sundays and Holiday service runs from Lawrence West Station via Lawrence and Varna to loop via Varna, Ranee passing Yorkdale Station and Flemington to Varna.

ST CLAIR and  EARLSCOURT

  • ST CLAIR cars will run both ways via St Clair West Station. EARLSCOURT cars will run Monday to Friday rush hours from Lansdowne to St Clair West Station. 

84 SHEPPARD WEST

  • 84A "Wilmington" branch discontinued and replaced by new FAYWOOD and WILSON HEIGHTS routes.

77 SPADINA

  • All buses will run northbound to Spadina Station (Bloor St) only. Service north of Bloor replaced by new SPADINA NORTH 103 buses.

103 SPADINA NORTH

  • A new route replacing the north end of the SPADINA route. Buses run from Spadina Station via Spadina looping via via Davenport, Kendall and MacPherson to Spadina. All night service on Spadina north of Bloor discontinued.

90 VAUGHAN

  • Buses will run from Oakwood via Vaughan and St Clair to St Clair West Station. During  Monday to Friday rush hours alternate buses will run via Oakwood and Bathurst to Bathurst Station.

96 WILSON

  • Buses will run both ways via Wilson Station. Buses on the Monday to Friday rush hour "Milvan" branch will run between Milvan and Wilson Station only. 

105 WILSON HEIGHTS

  • A new route replacing the north end of the DUFFERIN route. Buses will run from Wilson Station 12 hours a day, Monday to Saturday via Wilson Heights and Dufferin looping via Martin Ross, Alness and Steeles to Dufferin.

106 YORK UNIVERSITY

  • A new route into York University. Buses will run from Wilson Station via Wilson, Keele, Grandravine and Sentinel looping clockwise through York University via Fraser Drive and stopping at the Ross Humanities Building.

September 1978

36 FINCH WEST

  • The looping of the 36A FINCH WEST "Weston Road" service is now split during Monday-Friday rush-hours to provide a new service (36D) into the industrial area west of Weston Road and south of Steeles. Alternate buses will turn at Steeles & Weston Road via Steeles, Barmac and Ormont and around the existing loop via Steeles, Signet and Fenmar.

  • Rush hour service will be provided every 12 minutes on each branch. Buses turn via the new Barmac looping between 6:47 and 8:47 a.m. and between 3:51 and 5:51 p.m. During off-peak hours all buses turn via the existing Signet looping.

109 RANEE

  • The hours of operation into the Neptune and Bathurst area were extended to include evening and Sunday service. During this period, buses run every 30 minutes from Lawrence West Station on the SPADINA subway line via Lawrence, Varna, Flemington, Ranee, Ameer and Neptune to Bathurst.

  • Evening and Sunday service runs both ways on Flemington Road between Varna and Ranee. There is not evening or Sunday service on Varna between Flemington and Ranee.

105 wilson heights

  • The looping of the 105 WILSON HEIGHTS route through the industrial area south of Steeles and west of Dufferin has been changed to provide new service on Flint Road.  Buses now loop via Martin Ross, Flint, Alness and Steeles.

  • Service is provided 12 hours a day, Monday through Saturday.  Buses run every 8 minutes during Monday-Friday rush hours, every 10 minutes during Monday-Friday off-peak hours and every 20 minutes on Saturdays.

91 woodbine

  • A new one-way Monday-Friday rush-hour service on Railside Road is now provided by the 91F WOODBINE buses.

  • During the A.M. rush hour buses run from Woodbine Station from 6:12 to 8:40 a.m. over the regular route to Lawrence and then run via Railside Road on their way to York Mills.  During the P.M. rush hour buses will run from York Mills from 3:20 to 5:56 a.m. over the regular route to Lawrence and then via Railside Road on their way to Woodbine Station.

  • Initially the service through the Railside Road Industrial Area will be provided every 16 minutes during Monday-Friday rush hours only.
