Monday, January 5, we're revising the looping at Culford to provide a new
service into the Sheffield industrial area and a closer service to
Northwestern Hospital and Baker Health Clinic. Buses will run from
Lawrence West Station via Lawrence and loop until 3:00 p.m. counterclockwise
via Benton, Colville, Sheffield, Ingram, Gulliver, Culford and
Lawrence. Buses will reverse the looping after 3:00 p.m. Service will
no longer be provided on Flamborough Dr. between Culford and Keele.

INTRODUCING
THE BLUE NIGHT NETWORK
-
Effective
1:00 a.m., Monday, February 9, the TTC will introduce its new Blue Night
Network. With the introduction of the network, 86% of the
residents of Metropolitan Toronto will be within a 15-minute walk of
late-night TTC service.
-
Service
on the new network will be provided on 22 routes, every night from
approximately 1:00 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. On Sunday mornings, some routes
will provide later service, while others will be replaced at 5:30 a.m. with
the regular daytime service. Blue Night Network services will
run at 30 minute intervals, except on the 300 BLOOR-DANFORTH and 320 YONGE
routes where service is more frequent. Whenever possible, timed
transfer connections will be made between routes.

Vehicles
on the new network will display a 300-series routes number and unique blue
route and destination signs. Reflective blue bands will identify Blue
Night Network transit stop markers.

Many
of the routes will use subway station loops to turn around. Passengers
are reminded that they will not be picked up or dropped off in a station
when the subway is closed.

Dundas and Dundas. Service will be provided every 15 minutes during rush hours
and every 30 minutes during off-peak hours. Buses will leave Jane Station from
6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. they’ll leave Warren Park (Varsity & Van Stassen) from

BUS TERMINAL AT YORK MILLS STATION CLOSING DURING CONSTRUCTION

Starting
Sunday, May 24, TTC buses will no longer use the existing bus terminal at
York Mills Station as York Trillium Developments begins construction over
the station, including new terminals for TTC and regional buses just north
of the existing facility.
-
Included
in Phase One will be the construction of a new TTC bus terminal. The
parking lot on the northwest corner corner of Wilson & Yonge has been
closed since the end of April and converted into a temporary bus terminal
facility. 96 WILSON, 101 EDWARDS GARDENS, 122 GRAYDON HALL, 115 SILVER
HILLS, 78 ST. ANDREWS and 97A YONGE buses will use this temporary facility
for approximately 9 months. 95 YORK MILLS buses will load on Old York Mills
Rd. with access from the south end of the subway platform. The
collectors booth at this location will be staffed at all times. Gray Coach
and GO Transit will move to their own temporary facility at the west end of
the parking lot early in June.

When
Phase One is completed, TTC buses will move to their new bus terminal.
Gray Coach and GO Transit will continue to use the parking lot facility
until their terminal and the rest of the development is completed.

There
will be no commuter parking at York Mills Station during the first phase of
construction, and limited parking until the new development opens in
1989. Alternative commuter parking is available at Wilson, Yorkdale
and Finch subway stations.
SCARBOROUGH
RT CLOSING EARLY FOR "WINTERIZING"

From
Sunday, May 24, until Saturday, June 27, last trips of the Scarborough RT
will leave McCowan Station at 9:48 p.m. and Kennedy Station at 10:00 p.m.
every night to facilitate the final phase of "winterizing" work on
the line. Service on the 21 BRIMLEY route between Kennedy Station and
Scarborough Town Centre Station will be increased to every 9 minutes every
night from about 10:00 p.m. to 1:45 a.m. when the Scarborough RT is closed.

When
the work is completed, you can look forward to improved winter operations on
the Scarborough RT line.

bus service is again being provided to Tommy Thompson Park at the
foot of Leslie Street. Buses run every hour, Saturdays, Sundays and
holidays only, leaving Berkshire (Jones) & Queen from 8.45 a.m. to 5.45
p.m., southbound from the park gate from 8.55 a.m. to 5.55 p.m., and return
from the park from 9.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. (additional trip at 6.00 p.m.)

weekends and holidays starting June 28, buses will run south of
High Park subway station into High Park via West Road and Colborne Lodge
Drive, looping at Colborne Lodge and returning north via Colborne Lodge
Drive. Service into the park on these days will be provided every 30
minutes from about 11.00 a.m. to 6 p.m.
92 WOODBINE SOUTH

The summer extension to the Lake Shore will again be provided starting
June 28. Buses will run from Woodbine subway station and loop south of
Queen via Queen, Eastern, Coxwell, Lake Shore and Woodbine. Service
Monday through Friday will be provided every 15 minutes from about 9.15 a.m.
to 3.45 p.m. and from about 6.30 p.m. to 9.45 p.m. On weekends and
holidays, there'll be a bus along every 15 minutes from about 9.15 a.m. to
9.45 p.m. Buses turn at Queen at other hours.
54E LAWRENCE EAST

Extended east of Rouge Hill GO Station via Lawrence to an
off-street loop
near Starspray Blvd. Service on the branch will be provided 12 hours a
day, Monday to Friday only, with last trips leaving Eglinton Station at 6.07
p.m. and Starspray at 5.53 p.m. Buses will run every 11-12 minutes
during the morning rush, every 14 minutes during afternoon rush and every 17
minutes through the day.
STADIUM EXPRESS

Just a reminder that beginning June 25 with the game against Montreal
regular-fare STADIUM EXPRESS bus service from Keele, Bathurst and Union
stations will be provided to all Toronto Argonauts home games, with the
exception of the August 21 game to be played during the CNE. Express
buses leave every few minutes from each location from two hours before and
until game time, and take you directly to the Stadium. Return buses
from the Stadium run until about one hour after the game. Be sure to
get a transfer where you pay your fare if you're taking the express from
Union.
NORTH YORK CENTRE STATION
OPENS THURSDAY, JUNE 18

Toronto's
newest subway station will open to the public at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June
18. The new station is located on the YONGE subway line about halfway
between Sheppard and Finch Stations.

Entrances
to the station are located at the southeast corner of Princess & Yonge,
and on the west side of Yonge at the south end of the North York City Centre
Development. A collector will be on duty at all times the station is
open.

A
third entrance from the retail are of the development is expected to open
early next year.

YONGE buses will continue to load on Yonge Street and transfers are required
to and from the buses and the subway.

very 30 minutes, leaving Wilson Station from 9:07 a.m. to 7:07 p.m. and

Timeline, a new telephone service to provide passengers with scheduling
information is currently being tested and the public will the opportunity to
use the system starting Sunday, August 16. Timeline is a talking
computer that you can call to find out when the next two or three transit
vehicles are scheduled to arrive at your stop.

Here's
how it works. Every TTC bus and streetcar stop will be marked with its own
individual telephone number. Jot down the numbers of the stops you use
regularly and keep them handy near your phone. Then just before you
leave, call the Timeline number of the stop you are planning to use.
The computer voice will provide you with the scheduled arrival
times of the next two or three transit vehicles.
