401 and downtown. Buses pick up and drop off passengers at all stops both
ways on Avenue Rd between Highway 401 (Bombay) and Eglinton. They run
express between Eglinton and Queen & University with stops for
passengers at Lonsdale & Avenue Rd, St. Clair & Avenue Rd, Museum
subway station, and on University at College, Dundas and Queen. Buses pick
up and let off passengers downtown at the far side stops eastbound on
Adelaide at University, Bay and Yonge, northbound on Church at Lombard, and
at the far side stops westbound on Richmond at Yonge, Bay and York.

Service is
provided every 18 minutes during Monday to Friday rush hours only. Buses
leave Highway 401 from 6:37am to 9:01am and from 4:02pm to 5:50pm. They
leave downtown (Church & Lombard) from 7:27am to 8:39am and from 3:30pm
to 6:30pm. This route replaces Armour Heights 1 rush hour service between
Highway 401 and Roe Loop.

looping via Auto Mall (south of Sheppard) and Milner. Buses
returning to Kennedy Station run via Conlins, Ellesmere, Military
Trail, Morningside and the regular routing.

Place Bus Service

Starting
Thursday, May 17 and until September 3, buses will run from Union
Station (southeast corner of Bay & Front) to Ontario Place's
Centre Entrance. Service is provided every 30 minutes on
weekdays and every 15 minutes on weekends and holidays, with buses
leaving Union Station from 9:45 a.m. to 11:15 p.m. and Ontario Place
from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Exact
cash fares are $1.00 for adults and 50˘ for children and seniors.
Tickets, tokens, transfers or passes are not accepted on this special
bus service.

604 HARBOURFRONT LRT LINE

The
604 HARBOURFRONT LRT line opens Saturday, June 23.
Streetcars will run from the underground loop at Union Station via
tunnel under Bay Street to Queens Quay, then on the surface private
right-of-way on Queens Quay between Bay Street and an off-street loop
at Spadina.
-
The
new line will provide easy, convenient access from the subway to the
Harbourfront area. Everyone is invited for a complimentary ride
on the line all day Saturday and Sunday, June 23 and 24. Regular
revenue service begins June 25.
-
Initially
service on the new line will be provided every 3 minutes during the
Monday-Friday rush hours, every 5 minutes during off-peak hours and
every 7 minutes in the evenings. Streetcars will leave Union Station
from 6:08 a.m. (Sundays, 9:00 a.m.) to 1:00 a.m. and leave from
Spadina & Queen's Quay from 6:00 a.m. (Sundays 8:53 a.m.) to 12:52
a.m.

Stops
are located at Union Station, both ways on Queens Quay at York, Simcoe
and Rees, and at the loop at Spadina. Unfortunately, the
underground station at Queens Quay & Bay will not be ready until
later this year. Until then, streetcars will stop both ways at
temporary platforms at the top of the ramp to Queens Quay, just west
of Bay Street.

Connection
to the new line at Union Station is from the east end of the subway
mezzanine. Customers are reminded to exit from the proper
escalators/stairways from the subway platform.

In
conjunction with the opening of the HARBOURFRONT LRT line, 6
BAY and 77 SPADINA bus service will be revised.

SPADINA buses will run between
Spadina Station and the loop at Queens Quay & Spadina 24 hours a
day, 7 days a week, with additional service between Spadina Station
and Wellington during Monday-Friday rush hours. On Sunday
mornings, buses will provide service on Queens Quay and Bay Street
until the 9:00 a.m. opening of the HARBOURFRONT LRT.

The
BAY SHUTTLE, which has been providing service on Bay south of
Front since the beginning of LRT construction, will be discontinued
and 6 BAY buses will provide through service on Davenport, Bay
and Queens Quay, between Dupont and Jarvis, 18 hours a day, 7 days a
week.

On summer weekends and holidays starting June
24, from about 11:00 a.m. to
6:00 p.m. buses will run south of High Park subway station into High Park via
West Road and Colborne Lodge Drive, looping at Colborne Lodge and returning
north via Colborne Lodge Drive. Service will be provided every 30
minutes.
53A/53C STEELES EAST

Starting
on June 24, buses on the "53A McCowan" local and "53C
McCowan" express branches currently turning at McCowan will run a
few blocks farther east to a new off-street loop on Middlefield Rd.
just north of Steeles. Service to Middlefield will be provided
18 hours a day (Sunday from about 8:30 a.m.), 7 days a week.
TOMMY THOMPSON PARK

Summer bus service is again being provided to Tommy Thompson Park at the
foot of Leslie Street. Buses run every hour, Saturdays, Sundays and
holidays only, leaving Berkshire (Jones) & Queen from 8:45 a.m. to 5:45
p.m., southbound from the park gate from 9:05 a.m. to 5:05 p.m. (also 5:55
p.m.), and return
from the park from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (additional trip at 6:00 p.m.)

Starting
on June 24, buses on the "68 Steeles" branch of the route will run
to a new off-street loop on Warden just north of Steeles, 18 hours a day
(Sunday from about 8:45 a.m.), 7 days a week. Service on Bamburgh Circle
will no longer be provided.

24, buses running from Woodbine subway station and loop
south of Queen via Queen, Eastern, Coxwell, Lake Shore and Woodbine.

Morningside, Sewells, Littles and Finch to a new off-street loop
near Valley Centre Dr. At other hours, buses will continue to
turn at the loop on Casebridge (McLevin) east of Morningside.

and "7G Highway 7B" branches of the Bathurst route. Buses
will continue to run all day until about 10:00 p.m. (Sat. 6:00 p.m., Sun.
7:00 p.m.) between Wilson Station and Bathurst & Centre St (Atkinson) via
Wilson and Bathurst. Additional service is provided during
Monday-Friday rush hours between Wilson Station and Steeles via Torresdale
(160B) and on Saturdays between Wilson Stn and Steeles (160A). All
service after 10:00 p.m. weekdays, 6:00 p.m. Saturday, and 7:00 p.m. Sunday runs
between Wilson Station and Steeles (160A).

the request of the Town of Markham, starting Tuesday September 4,
we're revising the looping of buses at Highway 7. "25D - 16th
Avenue" Monday-Friday rush hour buses will now loop
counterclockwise via Commerce Valley Dr. E., East Beaver Creek, Mural,
16th Avenue, Granton, West Beaver Creek, Highway 7 and Leslie.
Monday-Friday off-peak buses will now loop at Highway 7 (25C) via
Commerce Valley Dr. E., Highway 7 and Leslie.

Starting
Tuesday September 4, we're again increasing service on this popular
regular-fare express route running from Eglinton and Mt. Pleasant area
to downtown. Buses will now leave Eglinton & Redpath at 6:30,
7:00, 7:30, 7:50, 8:00, 8:05, 8:15, and 8:26am, run via Redpath,
Erskine, Mt. Pleasant, Jarvis, and Richmond and arrive downtown less
than 30 minutes later. Buses pick up and unload at all stops from
Eglinton & Redpath to St. Clair & Mt. Pleasant, and on Jarvis
at Wellesley, Carlton, Dundas, and Queen. Customers can leave this bus
downtown westbound on Richmond at Church, Yonge, Bay, or York.

Afternoon Return Service!

Starting
in October, new afternoon return express service will be provided from
downtown to Eglinton & Mt. Pleasant. Buses will run about every 20
minutes, leaving the downtown area from about 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
Additional afternoon stops will be made to pick up customers eastbound
on Adelaide at University, Bay, Yonge, and Church.

NEW COMMUNITY BUS SERVICE IN THE LAWRENCE
MANOR AREA

We’re testing a regular-fare community-oriented bus
service in the Lawrence Manor and Lawrence Heights areas. The new
service links up the Baycrest Centre, the National Council of Jewish
Women apartments, a branch of the North York Library, Lawrence Square
shopping centre and Lawrence West subway station. Although anyone can
use it, the new community bus service is intended primarily for
customers who have difficulty using conventional transit
service. The special low-floor bus
which is being used seats 12-18 plus space for two people in
wheelchairs, and the doors are equipped with a kneeling feature.

Community bus service is provided every hours,
Monday through Friday only, between the Baycrest Centre and Lawrence
West subway station from about 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
