The TTC is making major service cuts and adjustments beginning Sunday, February 18, 1996. These changes, along with a major restructuring and downsizing and the closing of Lansdowne Garage, will compensate for reductions to the TTC's operating subsidy from the Ontario provincial and Metro Toronto governments in 1996. Each possible service-level reduction and each possible elimination of service on every route in the system, at every time of the week, was considered. The service cuts have been selected to keep the network as easy to use, quick, and comfortable as possible.

3 Ancaster Park

  • Service to the Ancaster Park area and deHavilland will be provided by 120 CALVINGTON route. Rush hour service reduced to once an hour.

2 Anglesey

  • Service south of Rathburn to Sherway Gardens discontinued. No service after 10 p.m., seven days a week. Monday-Saturday evening service reduced to every 30 minutes. Sunday evening service improved to every 20 minutes.

4 Annette

  • No service after 10 p.m., Sundays. Monday-Friday morning rush hour service reduced to every 15 minutes and early evening reduced to every 20 minutes.

99 Arrow Rd

  • New route running from Arrow Rd. & Sheppard running in a clockwise loop via Arrow Rd, into Arrow Road Bus Garage, Arrow Rd., Finch, Jane and Sheppard, every day, replacing a portion of the 99 CLAYSON route.

5 Avenue Rd

  • No service after 10 p.m., every day. Monday-Friday early evening service reduced to every 30 minutes. Saturday & Sunday evening service improved to every 20 minutes.

 61 Avenue Rd North

  • Monday-Friday rush hour frequent service reduced.

7 Bathurst

  • Monday-Friday rush and midday frequent service reduced.

160 Bathurst North

  • Short turn service discontinued on Fisherville and Torresdale. Monday-Friday rush hours reduced to every 20 minutes.

310 Bathurst Blue Night

  • Route extended to run from Exhibition Place via Fleet and Bathurst to Steeles replacing a portion of route 314 and providing new all night service on Bathurst between St. Clair and Lawrence.

6 Bay

  • No service after 10 p.m., Monday-Friday. No service after 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. Monday-Friday rush hour frequent service reduced.

11 Bayview

  • No service north of Sheppard after 10 p.m., Saturday and Sunday (buses will turn at Sheppard). Saturday midday frequent service reduced and Saturday and Sunday late evening service reduced to every 30 minutes.

9 Bellamy

  • No service after 10 p.m., Monday-Friday. Saturday and Sunday service discontinued.

17 Birchmount

  • Monday-Friday morning rush hour frequent service reduced. No service after 7 p.m., Sundays.

49 Bloor West

  • Monday-Friday late evening service reduced to every 30 minutes.

21 Brimley

  • No service after 10 p.m., Sundays. Monday-Saturday evening, Saturday and Sunday midday service reduced to every 30 minutes.

128 Brimley North

  • No service after 10 p.m., every day. Monday-Friday morning rush hour frequent service reduced. Saturday and Sunday midday and early evening service reduced to every 30 minutes.

8 Broadview

  • No service after 11:30 p.m., every day. Service reduced to every 30 minutes at all times.

50 Burnhamthorpe

  • No service after 10 p.m., every day.

120 Calvington

  • Route revised to run through the Ancaster Park area looping in a counter - clockwise direction via Maniza, Powell, Ancaster, Gilley and Garratt travelling both to and from Wilson Station. Service provided during  Monday-Friday rush hours only, once every hour.

506 Carlton

  • Monday-Friday rush hour frequent service reduced.

126 Christie

  • No service after 7 p.m., Sundays.

19 Church

  • Route discontinued.

99 Clayson

  • Route discontinued. A portion of the service on Arrow Road has been replaced (see 99 Arrow Rd.).

20 Cliffside

  • No service after 10 p.m. Monday-Friday. No service after 7 p.m., Saturday or Sunday. Evening service replaced on Midland (see 12 Kingston Rd.).

87 Cosburn

  • Saturday late evening and Sunday evening service reduced to every 30 minutes.

322 Coxwell Blue Night

  • West end routing revised to run via Cosburn and Broadview to Broadview Station in both directions. Looping via Pape, Donlands and O'Connor  discontinued.

42 Cummer

  • Monday-Friday rush hour frequent service reduced.

113 Danforth

  • Saturday late evening and Sunday evening service reduced to every 30 minutes.

127 Davenport

  • No service after 10 p.m., Monday-Friday. No service after 10 p.m. Saturday. Sunday service discontinued. Monday-Friday morning rush hour service  reduced to every 16 minutes.

23 Dawes

  • No service after 10 p.m., Monday-Saturday. No service after 7 p.m. Sunday.

25 Don Mills

  • Monday-Friday rush hour frequent service to Steeles reduced. 25D "16th Avenue" branch reduced to every 17 minutes in the morning rush hour and every 34 minutes in the afternoon rush hour.

303 Don Mills Blue Night

  • Routing revised to run via the Leaside Bridge, Pape, Danforth and Broadview in both directions providing a new all night service on Pape  between Cosburn and Danforth. A portion of the night service on Broadview Avenue replaced by route 322 (see 322 Coxwell).

108 Downsview

  • No service after 10 p.m., Saturday. New rush hour service on Grandravine east of Arleta during rush hours replacing part of 119 Grandravine. In the morning, alternate eastbound buses will run south on Driftwood, south and east on Grandravine, north on Keele, east on St. Regis, south on Tuscan and east on Sheppard. In the afternoon, alternate westbound buses will run west on Sheppard, north on Tuscan, west on St. Regis, south on Keele, west and north on Grandravine and north on Driftwood. There will be a longer waiting time for eastbound buses on Arleta during the morning rush (16-17 minutes) and for westbound buses serving Arleta during the afternoon rush (20 minutes).

502 Downtowner

  • Monday-Friday morning rush hour service reduced to every 14 minutes.

125 Drewry

  • Saturday and Sunday service discontinued.

29 Dufferin

  • Rush hour and midday frequent service reduced, every day.

329 Dufferin Blue Night

  • New route running from Exhibition West Loop via Dufferin and Lawrence to Yonge replacing a portion of route 314 and providing a new night service on  Lawrence Avenue between Bathurst and Yonge.

  • Monday-Friday afternoon rush hour, Saturday midday and late evening and Sunday evening frequent service reduced.

118 Finch Via Allen

  • Route discontinued. Route 106A YORK UNIVERSITY Express stops added on Finch between Keele and Dufferin, in order to transfer south to Wilson Station.

36 Finch West

  • Monday-Friday rush hour, midday and early evening frequent service reduced. Saturday early evening service reduced to 13-14 minutes and late evening reduced to every 15 minutes. Sunday early evening reduced to 15-16 minutes.

309 Finch West Blue Night

  • New all night service on Finch west of Islington to Humberline, seven days a week. Buses will run west on Finch, south and east on Humberline, north on Humber College Blvd, and return east on Finch. Service via Islington and Albion discontinued.

100 Flemingdon Park

  • No service west of Don Mills to Eglinton Station after 10 p.m., Sunday. Monday-Friday morning rush hour frequent service reduced.

33 Forest Hill

  • Route shortened to operate between St. Clair West Station and Eglinton via Spadina Rd. Buses will run from St. Clair West Station east on St. Clair, north on Spadina Rd, west on Elderwood, north on Vesta, east on Eglinton and return south on Spadina Rd during Monday-Friday rush hours only. No Saturday or Sunday service. Service from St. Clair Station via Lonsdale, Dunvegan, Hillholm, Russell Hill, and Forest Hill Rd discontinued.

14 Glencairn

  • Buses will run during Monday-Friday rush hours only. No service on Saturday or Sunday.

119 Grandravine

  • Route discontinued. A portion of the route will be served by route 108 (see 108 DOWNSVIEW).

122 Graydon Hall

  • No service after 7 p.m., Monday-Friday.

510 Harbourfront

  • Monday-Friday rush hour and Saturday and Sunday midday frequent service reduced. Sunday late evening service reduced to every 15 minutes. (Route renumbered from 604).

  • Buses will run during Monday-Friday rush hours only. Saturday and Sunday service discontinued.

37 Islington

  • No service on Rexdale Blvd. to Woodbine Centre and Humberwood after 10 p.m., Monday-Saturday. No service on Rexdale Blvd. on Sundays. Monday-Friday rush hour frequent service reduced, early evening service  reduced to every 24 minutes on each branch (combined 12 minutes south of Rexdale Blvd.) and late evening service reduced to every 20 minutes.   • Monday-Friday late evening, Saturday evening and Sunday all day service reduced to every 30 minutes. At these times buses will follow the regular routing through Rosedale then continue south on Glen Rd. and then west on  Elm and over the 75 Sherbourne route to Queens Quay. Likewise, 75 Sherbourne buses arriving at Glen Rd. & South Dr. will continue north as 82 Rosedale buses following the regular looping and continue to Rosedale Station. Note: buses loop counter - clockwise as they travel to both Queens Quay and Rosedale Station. Be sure to check the route number, name and destination before boarding the vehicle.

73 Royal York

  • No service north of Dixon Rd on St. Phillips, Weston Rd and Albion Rd. after 10 p.m., Saturday or after 7 p.m., Sunday. Monday-Friday morning rush  frequent service reduced and early evening service reduced to every 20 minutes. Saturday and Sunday late evening service reduced to every 30 minutes.

  • Monday-Friday rush hour frequent service to Weston Road reduced. 84D "Oakdale" rush hour branch reduced to every 30 minutes.

75 Sherbourne

  • Monday-Friday late evening, Saturday evening, and all day Sunday service reduced to every 30 minutes. At these times, northbound buses arriving at Glen Rd. continue as route 82 Rosedale to Rosedale Station. Southbound Rosedale buses will continue, from Glen Rd. as 75 Sherbourne buses to Queens Quay. Note: buses will run via Maple, Glen, Castle Frank and South Drive while travelling northbound only. To travel south, board buses on Glen Road north of Castle Frank or on Elm Avenue.

123 Shorncliffe

  • Saturday and Sunday late evening service reduced to every 30 minutes.

115 Silver Hills

  • Buses will now run during Monday-Friday rush hours only with no service after 7 p.m.

138 South Kingsway

  • Route discontinued. A portion of the route is served by route 71 (see 71 Runnymede).

88 South Leaside

  • Monday-Friday morning rush hour service reduced to every 16 minutes on each branch (combined frequent service provided south of Eglinton) and midday service reduced to every 30 minutes on each branch (combined 15 minute service).

89 Weston

  • Monday-Friday midday service reduced to every 12 minutes and Sunday late evening service reduced to every 20 minutes.

165 Weston Rd North

  • No service after 10 p.m., Sunday. Service during Monday-Friday rush hours will be extended from Wilson Station to York Mills Station. Monday-Friday  rush hour frequent service reduced. Saturday early evening service reduced to every 23-24 minutes.

98 Willowdale-Senlac

  • No service after 7 p.m., every day. On the Senlac, Grantbrook, Cactus portion Monday-Friday rush hour service reduced to every 15 minutes and Saturday early evening service reduced to every 30 minutes. On the Willowdale portion, Monday-Friday rush hour and Saturday midday service reduced to every 30 minutes.

96 Wilson

  • Monday-Friday service on the 96C "Tandridge and Thistledown" rush hour branch reduced to every 30 minutes. New 96F rush hour branch added between Jane & Wilson and York Mills Station.

91 Woodbine

  • Monday-Friday afternoon rush hour and Saturday early evening frequent service reduced.

Downsview Station Opens

  • Sunday, March 31, marks the opening of Downsview Station, the new north end of the Spadina line.  The station, located on the southeast corner of Sheppard Avenue West and Allen Road, will provide a new connection with many buses serving the Downsview area.

  • Subway service begins southbound at Downsview Station at 6:03 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 9:02 a.m. on Sundays.  The first northbound train arrives at Downsview Station at approximately 6:33 a.m.  Monday through Friday, 6:28 a.m. on Saturdays and at 9:36 on Sundays.  The last train leaves Downsview southbound at 1:17 a.m., every day and the last northbound train arrives at 2:07 a.m., every day.  There will be no changes to the times of first last trains at any other stations.

Bus Route Changes

  • Effective March 31, route 84 SHEPPARD WEST will run both ways via Downsview Station providing a direct connection from Sheppard Avenue to downtown via the Spadina subway line.

  • Routes 105 WILSON HEIGHTS, 106 YORK UNIVERSITY, 107 KEELE NORTH, 108 DOWNSVIEW and 117 ALNESS will begin running from Downsview Station.  Regular riders, on these routes, will appreciate the much closer transfer arrangements between the subway and the bus platform.  The bus platform level layout (below) indicates where each of the routes will load at Downsview Station.  Some early morning trips will continue to run to Wilson Avenue for the convenience of customers currently connecting to with the 96/319 Wilson service before the subway opens.

  • Route 105 WILSON HEIGHTS buses will no longer provide service on Wilson Heights Blvd. south of Sheppard Avenue. 117 ALNESS buses will be rerouted to run south of Finch to Downsview Station via Dufferin, Kennard, Wilson Heights and Sheppard.

  • 106A York University Express buses will now be designated as route 106E.

Changes at Wilson Station

  • With the opening of Downsview Station and the transfer of routes 105, 106, 107, 108 and 117, the North Bus Terminal at Wilson Station will be closed after Saturday, March 30.

Note: The current arrangement of buses at Downsview is somewhat different.

New Exhibition Loop Opens Sunday, June 16

  • On Sunday, June 16, the new Exhibition Loop opens at the CNE. 511 BATHURST streetcars and 310 BATHURST Blue Night Network buses will run directly to the new loop on the north side of the Horse Palace, just east of the Food Building. In conjunction with the opening of the new loop, 63 OSSINGTON buses from Ossington Station will run to King Street only. There’s no change to the routings of the 29 Dufferin and 121 Front-Esplanade services into Exhibition Place.

511 BATHURST

  • Streetcars from Bathurst Station along with 310 BATHURST Blue Night Network buses will run to the new loop, providing 24-hour service.

29 DUFFERIN

  • Starting Sunday May 12, buses will be extended into Exhibition Place after about 9:15 a.m. every day.

121 FRONT-ESPLANADE

  • Starting Sunday May 12, the route will be extended to provide a new service to Ontario Place. Buses run every day from about 9:30 a.m. with the last bus leaving Ontario Place at 10:00 p.m.

Special looping arrangements for 29 and 121 will be required during major events such as the Molson Indy, Caribana and the CNE.

86A SCARBOROUGH and 85B/85D SHEPPARD EAST 

  • Starting May 12, service to and from Metro Zoo provided until about 8:30 p.m.  86A service is provided daily; 85B (to Sheppard Station) and 85D (to Rouge Hill GO Station) services are provided on weekends and holidays only.

TRACK CONSTRUCTION AT COLLEGE & SPADINA

  • TTC crews will be laying streetcar track at College and Spadina from 8:00 p.m. May 16 to 5:00 a.m. May 21 and from 8:00 p.m. May 24 to 5:00 a.m. on May 27.  

  • 506 CARLTON streetcars will divert both ways via Ossington, Dundas and Bay, with 506 CARLTON shuttle buses providing service on College and Carlton between Lansdowne and Church. 

  • 306 CARLTON night service will be provided by buses between Dundas West Station and Main Street Station.  

  • 77 SPADINA buses will be diverted both ways via Harbord, St. George, Beverley and Dundas during the construction period.

TRACK RECONSTRUCTION ON QUEEN ST. W. and Lake shore blvd. 

  • TTC crews will be reconstructing streetcar track on Queen Street West between Niagara (west of Bathurst) and Shaw and on Lake Shore Blvd. between Royal York and Dwight between May 5 and June 16.

  • 501 QUEEN buses will replace streetcars on the west end of the route between Long Branch Loop and Church, with additional service between Roncesvalles and Church.

  • 501 QUEEN streetcars will run between Neville Park Loop and Wolseley Loop (on Bathurst north of Queen).

  • 301 QUEEN night service will be provided by buses between Long Branch Loop and Neville Park Loop.  Buses will run past the construction eastbound, but will divert westbound via Bathurst, King and Shaw.  Also buses will not enter Humber Loop, but will divert both ways via Queensway and Park Lawn.

  • 508 LAKE SHORE streetcars will be replaced by buses.

Summer Fare collection Procedures  on the 510 Harbourfront Line

  • The "Pay As You Leave / Free Ride" fare collection procedure will be used again this summer on the 510 HARBOURFRONT streetcar line to help provide more efficient service.  On weekends and holidays, starting May 18, no fares will be collected on the streetcars and no transfers will be issued.  After leaving the streetcar at Union Station, your fare will be collected as you enter the subway.  This lets us load the streetcars at all stops by both the front and centre doors, speeding up service.  As an added bonus, you can travel FREE between Queens Quay Station and Spadina & Queens Quay while visiting Harbourfront and other waterfront attractions.

  • You have to deposit the appropriate ticket, token or exact cash fare, or have a valid pass or transfer, after you leave the streetcar to enter the subway at Union Station, or when boarding other TTC services.  Streetcar and bus drivers, and the fare collectors at the streetcar loop at Union Station do not sell fares or make change.

  • This fare collection procedure will be in effect weekends and holidays from May 18 until Labour Day.

TRACK RECONSTRUCTION ON BROADVIEW and on Dundas east of Yonge 

  • From June 16 until July 28, service on the 504 KING and 505 DUNDAS routes will be affected while we TTC crews reconstruct streetcar tracks on two parts of Broadview Avenue - Dundas to Gerrard and Hogarth to Danforth - and on Dundas east of Yonge.

  • 505 DUNDAS streetcars will be replaced by buses between Dundas West Station and Broadview Station. Eastbound buses will divert at Broadview & Dundas via Dundas, Logan and Gerrard, westbound buses will divert at Gerrard & Broadview via Gerrard and River.

  • 504 KING streetcars will run from Dundas West Station, but will loop in the east end via Parliament, Dundas, Broadview, Queen and King.  504 KING buses will run from Broadview Station via Broadview, Gerrard, River, King, looping via York, Adelaide and Bay.  Buses return via King, Queen and Broadview.

  • Starting September 3, new Monday-Friday late evening service running via Islington, Cordova, Burnhamthorpe and looping via Mill Road, Rathburn, Kipling and Burnhamthorpe every 40 minutes from 10:15 p.m. to 12:55 a.m. from Islington Station and from 10:35 p.m. to 12:35 a.m. from Mill Rd. & Rathburn.

20 Cliffside

  • Starting September 7, Saturday early evening service added every hour from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. from Main St. Station and from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. from Kennedy Station.

121C Front-Esplanade

  • Starting September 3, Monday-Friday rush hour service will be extended via Parliament, Lake Shore Blvd, Cherry and Commissioners Street to Lake Shore Garage (just west of Leslie Street). Service to Exhibition and Ontario Place will be discontinued.

37a islington

  • Starting September 1, Monday-Saturday late evening and Sunday midday service will be provided to Humberwood.

107B/C Keele North

  • Starting September 3, Monday-Friday service revised to enter York University southbound from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and northbound from 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m. 

72C Pape

  • Starting September 3, in conjunction with the new 121C service, rush hour service will run to Cherry & Villiers only.  Service unchanged at other times.

109B Ranee

  • Starting September 1, Saturday, Sunday and holiday evening service added via Flemington, running every 45 minutes from 7:45 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. from Eglinton West Station and from 7:23 p.m. to 9:38 p.m. from Neptune.

84 Sheppard West

  • Starting September 16, 84B/C branches through CFB Toronto will be discontinued and all 84 SHEPPARD WEST buses will now run via Sheppard Avenue.

98 Willowdale-Senlac

  • Starting September 3, Monday-Friday early evening service added via every hour leaving Sheppard Station via Senlac 7:15 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. and leaving Peckham 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Buses leave Sheppard Station via Willowdale 7:45 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. and leave Steeles 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

  • Saturday and Sunday service will now be provided every 30 minutes until about 7:00 p.m. between Finch Station and the Torresdale area west of Bathurst.

  • Monday-Friday evening service will now be provided every 40 minutes until about 10:00 p.m. between Davisville Station and Caledonia.

52C Lawrence West

  • In conjunction with the new 59C MAPLE LEAF branch which will provide midday service into the Ingram/Gulliver area, 52C buses will run during Monday-Friday rush hours only between Lawrence Station and Culford.

59C Maple Leaf

  • Monday-Friday midday service (approximately 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) returns to Maple Leaf and Church.  Buses will run between Lawrence Station and Weston Rd. via Lawrence, Lawrence West Station, Lawrence, Benton, Sheffield, Ingram, Gulliver, Culford, Maple Leaf, Church and Weston Rd.  Note that midday service is not provided on Lawrence between Culford and Benton.

316 Ossington

  • Blue Night Network service returns.  Buses will run every 30 minutes between 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., seven days a week, providing an overnight service on Ossington and Oakwood between King and Eglinton West Station.

79 Scarlett RD.

  • Late evening service after 10:00 p.m. will now be provided every hour, seven days a week, until about 12:30 a.m. between Runnymede Station and Lawrence & Weston Rd.

84A SHEPPARD West

  • New Monday-Friday rush hour branch.  Buses will run between Sheppard Station and Steeles & Signet via Sheppard, Downsview Station, Sheppard, Arrow Rd. and Signet, looping via Steeles, Rossdean, Garyray, Norelco and Fenmar. 

RT Rail Grinding - October 20

  • The Scarborough RT line will open later at 12:00 noon on October 20 to accommodate rail grinding on the line.  Alternative bus service will be provided between all the stations from Kennedy to McCowan during the morning closure.

NEW ACCESSIBLE BUS ROUTES

  • Starting October 28, 39 FINCH EAST, 53 STEELES EAST and 85 SHEPPARD EAST will become accessible routes.

33 Forrest Hill

  • Starting November 18, looping at Eglinton revised to run via Spadina, Old Forrest Hill, Vesta, Eglinton and Spadina.  Service on Elderwood and a portion of Vesta Drive discontinued.  No change to the 20-minute service provided during Monday-Friday rush hours only.

66 Prince Edward

  • Starting November 17, late evening Saturday and Sunday service will run every 30 minutes leaving Humber Loop until 12:45 a.m. and Old Mill Station until 1:00 a.m.

80 Queensway

  • Late evening Monday-Saturday and all day Sunday service discontinued starting November 17.  Last Monday-Saturday trips will now leave Sherway Gardens at 9:48 p.m. and Keele Station at 10:00 p.m. (10:24 p.m. to Kipling Avenue only).
