Yonge - University - Spadina Subway PDF Adobe Acrobat Document

Service increase

  • The TTC has added subway trains to reduce crowding on the Yonge-University-Spadina (YUS) line during morning and afternoon rush hours. Two trains, with a total capacity of 2400, began service this morning and three trains, with 3600 capacity, begin operation this afternoon. Rush hour trains are about 2 1/2 minutes apart.

  • Customers looking to further ease their rush hour travel are advised to leave 10 minutes early, arriving at Bloor-Yonge before 8:15 a.m. and to move to the south end of the Y-U-S platforms, to access the less full subway cars.

  • Midday service has also increased by one train. To cut the wait time between trains to less than 5 minutes, weekend service and after-10 p.m. service daily have been boosted by four trains.

  • More trains will be added to the Bloor-Danforth line beginning March 20

6 Bay

Schedule adjustments

  • During the morning peak period from Monday to Friday, service will improve for customers who are travelling south of Dundas Street.  The revised operation will encourage customers who are travelling to points north of Dundas Street to use buses on the 6B (Bloor-Dundas) branch and reduce crowding for customers travelling south of Dundas.

  • Buses on the northern end of the line for the 6A (Bloor-Front and Lake Shore) branch and the 6B (Bloor-Dundas) branches will wait facing south on Bay Street at Bay Station, to allow customers to board while the buses are waiting for their departure time. A second bus stop will be established at Bay Station, so that buses on the 6B branch can wait and receive customers separately from buses on the 6/6A branches.

  • The full morning peak period service will begin approximately 30 minutes earlier, at 7:15 a.m. (time southbound from Bay Station).

  • Buses on the 6B branch will be scheduled to depart from Bay Station two minutes ahead of buses on the 6/6A branches.
